Jamelia pushed Avvon forward. "You wanna get out of here or not? That fire is going to get bigger and destroy everything. Now I suggest you pick up all the speed you got and help the others." She then leaped into the crowd, pushing the pups in the behind so far they did they did a little handstand. If they weren't all in danger, Jamelia would have laughed. Instead she kept pushing them on, and on. |

He wached her leap to the pup's and rush them forward "Stay their, I don't want you to get cought up at the end and get cought in the fire!" he called out staying behind the pack.

Jamelia got everyone into a lion's den. An old one, thank goodness. She watched as the land she once lived in spurted out in ash and fire. She finally did a head count to make sure no one was lost, and good enough no one was.

He looked around with a sigh, Now this.... he thought. He looked around again and went to the opening of the den and wached the flame's around him. He lied down and snorted in disapointment, he wasn't very good at his new job.. at all he thought. I'll do beter, I know I will. he complained in his mind still looking around.

Dark looked around for Shadow and relized she wasn't there,"Shadow!",he yelled and ran away into the path of the fire's scent,and Shadow's,"Shadow!",he yelled again and began to pick up speed as her scent and the fire's scent got even closer.
Shadow looked around from the shallows of the water,"Dark! Anyone!",she yelled as the fire began to surround the oasis and she layed in the water and coughed as the fire completely surrounded her. "Anyone...",she coughed out weakly and closed her eyes as she passed out.

Avvon perked his ear's up and lifted his head, he quickly stood up and raced after him. "Dark! Dark!" He called out as he pounced onto his back. "Go back to the den now! I'll go find her!" he gorwled as an order. He quickly took off, following her sent. He finally reached the oasis and looked around "Shadow!... Shadow!" he barked and sniffed were her sent was but had all the sudden dissappeared. He growled and dashed into the water "Shadow!" he barked. e finally found the pack member Shadow passed out. He growled and picked her up by the neck and drug her out, he lifted her onto his back and ran out of the fire and back to the den, their he gentally lied her down on flat rocj and looked at her then to Jemealia.

Jamelia sighed to herself, carrying a small, squirming pup back to it's mother. She was very much hoping it wouldn't happen again. She looked around, then made a few chittering noises to quiet everyone down. "Has anyone else been left behind? Is anyone injured? Except for you, Bracket..." She lowered her head and gently nuzzled a limping pup.

Shadow still didn't awaken. Dark nudged her lightly and sighed as he straightened back up.

Jamelia looked at Shadow worriedly. She cautiously approached her, circling around her and nudging her muzzle. "She is stubborn but is one of us." She crouched down a little bit, listening for a heart beat with her large black ear. She looked at Dark apologetically. "I am sorry I forgot to make sure everyone was here. But really, it is a bit harder when she wanders away from the pack." Jamelia knew Shadow was lucky. If the fire wouldn't get her, a lion would, or possibly a cheetah, or hyena. She stood up and stooped her head towards Shadow's ear. "Wake up, wake up... Come on Shadow..."

Dark nodded and nudged her once more,"Come on Shadow... You can do it... Wake up...",he whispered and straightened up once more. Moments later Shadow coughed weakly and opened her eyes,"What happened?",she whispered,almost silently.

Jamelia nodded towards the fire. "Next time, I beg you- Stay with the pack, or you will get injured far worse than this." She looked at Dark and nodded. "You have a strong sister." She then turned to check on the rest of the pack. It was not good to focus on one at a time, or else chaos will grow within the pack.
