Once upon a time, there was a a sleepy town called Wall in the middle of Europe. True to its name, the town of Wall did indeed have an impressive stretch of brick wall. On one side of that wall, the normal human world lives its normal if not boring lives. On the other side however, is the enchanted realm of Faerie.
On the right side of the wall, or the left depending on which way you are facing, many magical and strange creatures reside. On the left side of the wall (again, it may be the left depending on where you are standing), the humans live there in their little wooden cottages with the straw roofs.
Exactly in the middle of the wall, a hole just wide enough for a human to pass through, was made many, many centuries ago. Because of the danger a human faces if he or she enters the Faerie world (and same goes for the Faerie to enter the human world), a guard is posted 24/7 at the hole. This guard, who goes by the name Rufus Digger, is turning 110 years old next May.
For centuries, humans and Faeries have lived so close, yet so far away from each other. Now, everything has changed.
A star has fallen, and not just any star, but the North Star. Both humans and Faeries alike risk the dangers of crossing into each other's worlds to find and kill the star, for if a man or Faerie be able to eat the heart of the star, they will live forever.
