Spice howled for a mate

Neon heard other wolves howling for mates, his ranbow-swirled black fur rippling as he stood up and tossed his head back in a howl as well, his ears flattening compulsively as he did so.

StarFrost dipped her head sadly. No one wanted her, but, what was that? Before she could think she swung her head back to respond to Neon. Hope fluttered inside her.

Euryale was trekking along the forest with Eros, then she heard the familiar howls calling for a mate. On instinct, the two wolves howled back, racing towards the source of the howls.

"Hey, Eros." Euryale turned to her brother. "You think we'll get mates this time?" She asked.

Eros merely grunted and sped on, darting and weaving in and out of trees. Euryale rolled her eyes and followed him.

"Bet you I can beat you to the bushes!" Euryale grinned at her brother. Eros wagged his tail. 

"Betcha you can't!" He replied, speeding on. Pouncing, he glided smoothly through the bushes, and landed on the ground. "Ha!" He cried. "I win!" He stuck his tongue out at his sister who was emerging. 

"You cheated!" Euryale protested. "No jumping!" Then she noticed something moving behind Eros's back. "Hey, another wolf!" She wagged his tail. Clueless, Eros turned around, and almost rammed into the wolf [[Calyx]]. 

"Oops." Eros muttered. "Um, sorry."

"Hehehe," Calyx backed a few steps, "Its ok. Im Calyx." She said as she wagged her tail. "What are your names?"Calyx asked.

Eros growled a bit, stiffly wagging the tip of his tail. Euryale saw the aggression in her brother. She gently headbutted Eros on the shoulder. "I think she's harmless." Euryale whispered to Eros. He rolled his eyes, but his aggression ceased.

Euryale stepped forward. "I am Euryale." She said, slightly dipping her head downwards. "I'm sorry for my brother's harshness. He tends to be wary around strangers." Euryale explained. She nodded to Eros. "His name is Eros. Nice to meet you, Calyx."
