Spirit moaned as she took a few steps with her bad paw and a sharp pain shot up it and she thought back and it turns out she had landed on that paw by what she remembered.
I\'m extremely sorry for my absence. I\'ve been very busy and was recently attacked by 3 dogs and am currently recovering.

Zack could see tha pain on Spirits face as she stepped on one of her paws and again he winced as if he could feel her pain, "Try and stay off your paw if it hurts too much. You can always lean on me more if you need too." Zack licked Spirits ear trying to comfort her as best he could.

Spirit raised up her paw and didn't let it touch the ground and she smiled a little at Zack thinking,I'm happy he's really helping me and I'm a malchad,yet he is so kind to me when he doesn't have to be.,she leaned a little more on Zack.

"When we get back you should lay down and we can pack snow around around your paw so that it will numb the pain OK." Zack said. He softly nuzzled Spirit hoping the injury wasn't serious. They got back to clearing and Zack helped Spirit to lay down in the snow near where the pups were still looking up at the sky and he nudged snow around and on top of Spirit injured paw. He layed down next to her and watched the pups. His tail wagged slightly wanting to get up and play with them but he told himself that Spirit needed him with her.

Spirit sighed and looked at her paw,then at Zack and a small smile started going across her mouth,she started open her mouth to say something,but then closed her mouth not wanting to say it to him and she just drew in the snow what she was going to say with her good paw and what she drew was a small heart,but then she erased it before he could see it.

Zack looked over at Spirit as she wiped away the heart in the snow. He didn't suspect anything so he didn't ask. He nuzzled her a bit and licked her neck, "I hope your paw gets better soon." He said.

Spirit looked over at him as soon as she erased the heart and smiled,then she said slowly under her breath,"Your a very nice wolf,you know that?",then she nuzzled one his paws that was closest to her face.

Zack closed his eyes and licked Spirits muzzle back a couple times, "I love you." He whispered in her ear before he knew what he was saying. He didn't take it back though or start to stutter he merly opened his eyes and looked into hers.

Spirit smiled and thought to herself,See it would have been that easy!,and then whispered back to Zack,"I love you too",then smiled happy she finally said that to him,then she remembered her paw and relized it quit hurting.

Zack smiled a bit more and licked her muzzle again before laying his head lightly over her neck. He looked down at her injured paw that was covered in snow, "Does it feel any better?" He asked. He closed the small gap between their bodies and licked her neck and ears a bit.

Zack looked up at the darkening sky, "I think we better start getting you up to the den. You'll need a lot of sleep so that your paw will heal faster." He said as he stood up shaking the snow out of his fur and helping Spirit to her own paws.

Spirit helped him by pushing her weight up with her three other paws and walked on with him leaning on him mostly to just be leaning on him,but sort of for help walking.

Zack let her put as much wieght on him as she needed as he helped her up to her den. He layed her down in the bigger nest of pelts, "I'm sorry I made you fall again." He said sympatheticly as he licked her paw lightly.
