Lucis stared blankly after Zack. But I meant that. What does he mean, " I need to think"? She felt a little stunned, because she thought she had been quite frank. And then she realised how stupid that must have sounded. Which she-wolf would just give up a he-wolf to someone else? No wonder Zack didn't believe her. Lucis bit her lip as she considered the 'grave misunderstanding'. Feeling awkward, she decided she should find someone to talk to. Felix was, naturally, her first choice, but knowing him, she knew he'd ask her why the heck she liked Zack, or anyone for that matter, in the first place. She had to talk. To someone, anyone. Throwing Jaidlan a weak smile, she trotted off hastily. When she saw Renn and Spirit, Lucis walked up to them hesitantly. "Uh, Renn,... Can we talk?" Lucis wasn't particularly close to any wolf, not enough to go for advice anyway. But Renn was, after all, Zack's sibling, so maybe she would tell her what to do. Hoping she would understand, Lucis launched into a hurried explanation, barely stopping for breath. "It's really complicated, but you see, I liked Zack a lot, but now I see Jaidlan does too, and I'm fine with them being together and all, but when I told him so, he didn't seem to believe me. Could you convince him for me or something? I'm fine with being just friends. By the way, you haven't seen him around, have you? He had gone off somewhere." |

"Um..."Renn looked at Lucis quizzically as she asked if they could talk. She wouldn't say no, she had nothing against her it just caught her a bit off gaurd as they hadn't really ever talked before besides greetings and simple hunting strategies. Renn noded and nudged Spirit gently, "Go uh...dig holes I guess." She said before turning back to Lucis. She listneded inently as the she-wolf explained what had happened, "Yeah he's not the best at reading some emotions. He came by a couple of minutes ago so I'll go talk to him. Oh could you maybe watch Spirit for me while I'm gone? I wont be gone long just a few minutes." Renn asked. She didn't think leaving a pup like Spirit a lone for any length of time would be a good idea.

Spirit sat in the snow and kept her splayed paw up afraid if she put it down a monster would come from the print,"Were obea momma go?",she asked the other she wolf.

Jaidlan was shocked. How could Lucis just straight up tell Zack like that? What if Zack hated her now? As Lucis walked off, Jaidlan wailed like a lost pup. Everyone looked at her. She growled and started howling.
"Zack, I swear I was gonna tell you soon! I swear it, Zack. I just needed time. Please don't hate me Zack." Even though the wolf that she was in love with wasn't in front of her, she wailed it to herself as she walked to her den.
Tears were blurring her vision. "Oh, Zack. I understand if you pick Lucis. I mean, who would want a crippled wolf with only three legs? And no family. I mean, oh Zack...." Jaidlan had oily tears streaming down her face now. She sobbed silently into the dark cave that served as her den, the lichen covering the entrance blowing in the wind. Her pleas to Zack got lost in the howling wind.
When sleep over took her, she was plagued by dreams of Lucis and Zack having pups. -------------------------------

"He did?" Lucis asked dumbly to Renn's retreating back. "Oh, um, of course." she added, turning to the young pup. "Hey there, lil' fella. Don't worry, she'll come back soon." Lucis gave Spirit a warm smile and a gentle tug on the ears. "You wanna play?"

((It's fine I just wanted to add a bit more stuff before things like that happned.))
Zack had found a tiny clearing a mile or two away from the camp clearing and had layed down and at least tryed to think. Zack wasn't all that good at thinking about serious things though and soon found himself chasing around a brightly colored butterfly his mind drifting completly off the subject at hand. Zack stopped chasing the betterfly however when Renn came up to him from behind and had tackled him to make sure he would listen. "Look Zack. Lucis told me she really doesn't mind and that you should choose Jaidlan. She said some other things too but thats the jist of it. She was being truthfull when she said that you two should be together." Renn slowly got off of her brother and let him stand up,"Your still going to be friends with her right though?" Renn asked to make sure. "Well no der I am. I love friends and Lucis is fun to be around." Zack said. He smiled and nuzzled Renn softly," Thanks," He said before bounding off back towards the camp whilst Renn opted to take it a bit slower and walk back. She whent up to Lucis and Spirit right away to take the energized ball of fur off her paws. "Thanks Lucis. I'm sorry it uh...happened this way I guess. Sorry I'm not quite sure what to say in this situation." Renn sat down by Spirit and offered Lucis a friendly smile. Once Zack had gotten back to camp he searched around for Jaidlan finally finding her in her den. Hr poked his noes in and then his head seeing her blisfully asleep. He let off a small smile as he quietly walked over to her. He could faintly see tear stains on her cheecks and lightly licked them clean before sitting down in front of her and gently nudged her awake. |

Lucis grinned back at her. "Thanks a lot Renn, for, uh, clearing this up for me." And she threw a paw around her shoulder in a friendly show of gratitude. "Don't worry, I'll bet I won't know what to say either." Lucis looked down at Spirit, then back up at Renn. "Where's she from, anyway?" she asked in a low voice, careful not to let the pup hear.

"I found her out near the Tumfraw. I brought her back and was going to hand her over to the alphas but I guess she didn't want to let go..." Renn explained. She looked down at the pup still unsure why she would want her as a mother. Renn was the one who was suposed to bring pups like her out to die alone.

Jaidlan felt a warm, moist tongue on her cheeks and under her eyes. She opened her clear hazel eyes to see Zack smiling and sitting in front of her. She smiled weakly and sat up, stretching and fluffing out her glossy red fur.
Zack's amber eyes were warm and friendly. She could feel a goofy smile come across her face, but at this point she didn't care. She knew that Zack had come back for her. She knew he wouldn't leave her. She padded up to him and walked around him a couple of times, letting her tail brush his face.
"Oh, Zack. I swear, I was going to tell you. I just, I didn't think you would feel the same way. I mean, do you feel the same way? Or are you just being nice?"
Zack just kept smiling and staring at her. She smiled that goofy smile again, but there was a fire in her eyes. She didn't want her question to be ignored. Jaidlan shook her head, as if clearing the thoughts out of her head. Zack was happy, so she would be happy, with or with out him. She sat next to him and rested her head on his shoulder.

"No I like you...a lot. I like you a lot." Zack looked down at Jaidlan as she put her head on his shoulder, "You know now that I think about it you've kind of been obvious about this for quite some time now. And to think all this time I thought you were just a clutz...I mean that in a good way." Zack stood up quickly nudging Jaidlan in the back before racing off out of the cave.
"Tag your it!" He yelled as he looked over his shoulder looking to make sure Jaidlan was following. He tripped up a bit but didn't fall and slowed down so his gangly legs didn't make him fall. |

Jaidlan blushed and smiled that same goofy smile at him as he ran out the cave and tripped., He wanted her to chase him around, just fine. She had been doing that for quite some time now and didn't mind it. She got up and ran after him, her long legs moved swiftly and quickly.
He ran around the nursing den and around Naela's den. Finally she caught up to him and tackled him. They rolled down a slop into a grassy ravine. She pinned him down, and he started laughing. She grinned and growled playfully. Then she nipped his ear softly and let him pin her down.
His amber eyes bore into her clear, round hazel eyes. His eyes were warm and playful. She snorted, spraying him with saliva and snot mixed together. She ducked her head apologetically as he grimaced. But then he laughed and licked her cheek. She licked his nose and looked at him, smiling her signature goofy smile. She pushed on his chest with her forepaws, but didn't want him to get up.
Then, he rolled off her and laid down next to her in the soft grass. They lay there for a while, talking, laughing, and enjoying each other's company.
