"Little human cub is a magician," Hyena observed, standing in plain sight. "How strange. Hyena wonders if little human cub is female, its voice is higher than male. Hm, skinnier than male. Yes, little human cub is female," he decided, leaning back a little on his thick tail. He tilted his head to the side, dark eyes blinking. "Little human cub, tell Hyena what happened here. He thinks there is a war, but no-one has summoned him for his help. He needs money too, but his belt pouches are empty." He shuffled closer, neck stretching out to get her scent, ears flicking. It was clear he wasn't scared at all.

Renali edged back a bit, wary of the big creature. It was rare enough to glimpse a dragon, but to see one talking was a shock. Especially when it talks in English and in third-person. "Hello..." she started, trying to control her voice. "I'm Renali, and you must be Hyena," her lips twisted into a smile. What an interesting name for a mighty dragon. "There is a war--between Dippren and Junth. Maybe you're not being summoned because this isn't exactly human-populated? But I rather you not join, it's better that way. In fact..." she peeked at the dragon from her side. "Do you know of an alliance going around?"

"Allience, alliance... Alliance..." Hyena mused. He thought a moment, scratching his head with a paw. "Oh yis, Hyena knows of this alliance. He will show you if you listen to him, he is wise. Kindgom Saiferr, that is where you are headed, human cub. Hyena has seen them gathering, though he simply observed. They did not call Hyena so he left them alone, but they would be glad to take you." The dragon blinked his eyes, head snaking a bit as a few thoughts ran through his head. Amazingly he stayed silent about them. "Hyena does not help unless he is asked to, paid for his services." He glanced down at his belt and touched a paw to it; it didn't make a sound. "No one has called him yet."

"Um..." Ren shifted a bit uncomfortably. She paused a moment, thinking about the next words that will soon come out from her mouth. "Well...as soon as I get re*censored*igned to a different post, which should be tomorrow, then maybe I can pay you to accompany me to Saiferr? We can convince them that they need a dragon. No one can disagree when they see you." She nodded to herself, sure that her mental math was right and that she had enough coins for the mythical creature. "So how about it? I'd be glad for the protection too." [ooc: We should advertise this rp. :3 ]

[But how?] Hyena nodded. "He likes this plan," he said. "He finds you nice; you don't have to pay him as much as he would normally ask. Merely a few coins becuse he still needs coins." He blinked his eyes, head twisting around. "Hyena forgot. Not many people know he's a dragon. He normally uses a disguise, can disguise himself as mostly human. He is good at that magic." He unsheathed his claws a bit to scratch his head. He'd need to change before walking to Saiferr, but the forest between them and it was frought with dangerous large beasts. His ears flicked this way and that. "He will change just before going into Saiferr. People should recognize him then, and he can protect the human cub. Okay. Okay, Renali, Hyena agrees." His process of thought could be hard to follow and his strange accent could be hard to understand. However, he spoke slowly always, as if the Common language gave him trouble to speak. And surprisingly his wit was very quick, and he could deduce quite a bit about a person by spending merely an hour with them. He was an intelligent creature, though he sounded rather insane, thoughts coming out in a disorganized manner.

[ooc: Hmm...We could make a blog or advertise it on the sb (but there's a time limit in-between each advertisemen)? :3] Renali found herself smiling to her new and rather bulky companion. "Hahaha, 'mostly human'? I wonder what that may look like. Anyway, night is almost here...I guess we better eat now. What would you like? There's a storage a bit from here." She beckoned him with her hand, still feeling rather odd while talking to the dragon. I wonder what he uses coins for... Shaking her head, she took up another topic. "So are you alone? Or do you have other friends with you?" she asked as she walked up the path ending with a lone shed. She opened the door with her key.

Hyena followed her, ears forward to show his obvious amusement with her. "Hyena is alone. No one travels with him," he replied. "And he ate yesterday so he is not hungry." He knew he'd be hungry in his human form, since humans seemed to need to eat quite often in order to keep their energy up. He'd worry about that later, though. "If you want, Hyena can go ahead and show you his human form. It does take a bit of magic but he has quite a lot in store that he never uses, so he can change back for travel." [Sounds good, either/both is fine. Unfortunately I don't have enough time to do either. D: If you could do that I might be able to help on occasion, though. :3]

[Well, pretty much Renali and Hyena are in a random town, outside at the moment. Nothing much has happened except Hyena has agreed to escort Ren to Saiferr, and hopefully find himself some work. He's debating whether or not to show her his human form now or later, depending on her answer. And... that's it. (:]

[ooc: Uwwwwiiii. Spikedsoul's summary is pretty much it. Blunt and to the point. :D And okay Spiked, I did a blog about it. ^^] Renali nodded. She didn't really know how to respond to a dragon changing into a human. She could only just shake her head dumbfoundedly while breaking off a bit of bread and cheese. "That'll be, um, wonderful. I'll be able to memorize what you look like in human form when I need to look for you in the future."

Hyena chuckled. "It is different for you to hear Hyena's words," he observed. He shuffled back a few steps, unbuckling his belt from his waist and putting it to the side. Already satisfied he had enough room, he began muttering in his native tongue, a dragonic language that was almost dead to humans. Wind swirled around him, stirring up dust from rubble and the ground. A light engulfed him; his outline began to change into a human. His words suddenly changed as he remembered that humans wore clothes. Thankfully, though, he'd managed the spell before the other one was complete. The transformation was over within a few seconds. Where a dragon had stood moments before now stood a man of about 6'2. He had flaming red hair, with long bangs in the front that framed his face while in the back his hair was cut short. His face was pleasing to look at, as he'd studied how humans tended to be a little nicer to nicer-looking people. His body was thin and muscled, like he worked out. The only thing that gave away he wasn't human were his eyes; they remained the same solid color of dark purple, though he didn't look creepy at all. He'd managed to conjur a pair of pants and an open cloak, but that was it.

OOC: It wasn't, thanks. I appreciate you guys summing it up. I hope me being a dragon will be okay... Name: Chavaroth Gender:
Male Age: Adolescent. Isn't quite skilled with flight, though he can. Same with fire. Species: [it can really be anything, but I'd say try to mainly have humans/elves/etc.]
Dragon. Personality: Snarky, playful, naive, rash, headstrong. Kingdom of birth: Not from a Kingdom. :o Abbreviated history:
Um. I dunno. Too lazy to make one right now. Dragons are rare, so. You can predict the whole generic parents chased off killed or raised up in some barren mountains sort of thing. Alliance: [they don't have to have one yet, my character doesn't]
N/A Reasons for choosing the side: N/A Abilities: Breathing Fire, Flight, Mind talking (forgot what it's called...) Weapon of choice: Talons and Fangs Appearance: Here. Was drawn for me by a good friend. I'd hope people know to keep their paws off. Other:
Dunno. More can be learned about him in the actual RP.

He didn't know where he was going. Then again, he rarely knew where he was going. It was more of a primal instinct that kept him moving and wondering what the next turn would hold. His eyes tore easily through the forest, guiding his every step, lean though powerful as they were. Even then he couldn't restrain the loud crunching that leaves would produce under his claws, or the occasional slithering sound that happened to be his own tail dragged over the surface of the earth. Not that he minded, however; humans, to his knowledge, were quite some distance away from where he happened to tread. Most encounters with humans he had had weren't what he might have preferred; luckily for him no scars had carved themselves on his form. Scales always helped that factor all the same. He stopped momentarily, muzzle lifted and nostrils flaring as he tested the air. Many scents filled his nose, but one in particular; humans. From the smell of it, it seemed like there were many. He was still, in many ways, a hatchling; though he learned fast it seemed that sometimes learning didn't come fast enough. At the same time he was wary he was curious, and for one who is young curiosity sometimes gets the better. Chavaroth let out a low rumble, lurching his head forward as he started at a quick pace, keeping himself low in hopes of remaining covered by whatever camouflage the trees the forest allowed him to keep. It only took a few minutes before he happened to gaze down at a town, tranquil and peaceful even with the war happening. The war. He frowned inwardly at the thought, remembering how his parents' lives were taken because of that. Though he missed them, as any child would, he knew that he had to keep going. Pausing, Chavaroth debated whether entering the town. He was, undeniably, hungry, and food was not always something plentiful to come across. Not to mention he wasn't the best hunter there was; his scent made deer flee at the faintest whiff and his wings were only recently unveiled, making him far from agile. If he tried to swoop down and catch something from the skies it normally got away before he could, not to say he wasn't picking it up fast. But there was always the same risk of being spotted and killed, a risk he wasn't too keen on taking. Not sure what to do he laid on the hill, gazing down and watching the movements of people inside. It would come to him soon, to enter or stay. He knew, though, that his choice would have to come soon; hunger didn't wait for the patient.

Renali couldn't help her initial reaction. She had jumped back a bit from surprise. Seeing the dragon morph into a human--it was a bit too much. The sound of the dragon language that had been lost to humans for centuries didn't really help with the shock either. It was as if your whole mind was being sucked into some faraway place just by hearing those words. Eerily, a strong gale blew just then, as if adding to the mystique. "Guess I need to get out into the world more," she muttered to herself. "Can all dragons do that?" she asked timidly while she cut the bread and cheese up into portions and urged the once-dragon to take one. She paused a bit, thinking, and then added sheepishly, "Would you like meat with that? Since you are a carnivore, I *censored*ume..."

((Hi, hope I can join. Here's my profile ^^ Tell me if I should change anything)) Name: Ix Carmel Gender: Female Age: 21 Species: Human who knows magic Personality: Friendly, quiet, calm, helpful, gentle, she is also rather strong willed and stubborn. Kingdom of birth: Dippren Abbreviated history: Ix was born in Dippren to a large merchant family but left when her family business crumbled. Her three brothers went to war leaving only her father mother and two younger sisters, they couldn’t maintain the business on their own and Ix left to search for a better place to live and work with the hope of taking her family there someday. Alliance: None Reasons for choosing the side: She feels the war is pointless and that being involved in it in any way would be foolish. She could probably be persuaded to join Saiferr. Abilities: She specializes in summoning and shape shifting magic. Her most frequent summon is a Cerberus type creature and her most frequent shape shift is a winged dog. She also at times can do a point transformation and gain wings of the feathered or scaled kind. Weapon of choice: Silver staff with a blue crystal on the end and steel tipped fans for close combat. Appearance: 5’6, thin, tan skin, very light blue eyes, people have a tendency to think she’s blind, blond hair cut short just past her ears, her bangs hang over her eyes. She usually wears light fabric dresses with vests over the top and simple shoes. Other: She does odd jobs for money while traveling.

"Hyena did not mean to scare you," Hyena said, looking a little worried. He took a piece of bread, shaking his head. "Dragons can be omnivores too. Hyena is one, he doesn't always need meat. And no, not all dragons can do that. It takes quite a few years of practice, hard studies and multiple failures." He blinked and tilted his head to one side, making his hair cover an eye. "Are you okay? Seeing morphing magic is not common, Hyena knows this. He doesn't want you to be afraid, he is sorry for the shock. Often times he forgets not all humans have seen anything but humans and non-magical creatures."

[ooc: Yay, another person! <3] Renali smiled and then, seeing as how she could no longer hold it, bursted out laughing. "I'm sorry if I seemed rude. It wasn't scary or anything, it was just...rare. I recall seeing a mythical creature with my mother ages ago. It was in the woods. You're the first mythical creature I've met since then." She handed him a gl*censored* of water as she locked the shed close. Night was already fast approaching. Carefully, she uttered words and flicked her hand; one by one, the street lamps lit with a small flame. "It looks like dragon study schedules are similar to magician work ethics." Her amused face returned again as she imagined a full-dragon eating a head of cabbage. "Night is coming, we should go to sleep. After the soldier that should come here relieves me from my post, we need to get out quickly."

[Accepted too!] Hyena ran a hand through his hair. "Humans are confusing creatures." He took the glas.s and downed it even though he wasn't thirsty; he knew humans needed water to survive. "Where do you sleep?" he asked. He glanced at the sky, studying the position of where the moon would be. He shook his head, smiling. "Hyena does not sleep at night. It is normal for him to be what humans call nocturnal, but these past few weeks have been special, as he's learned all about the war. Is it particularly dangerous here during night?"

((Yay! Thanks ^^)) Ix ran through the darkening street a package in her arms. It was payment for her last odd job, though not money food was nice too, any payment was nice. She'd need somewhere to stay now though. She'd only been around in this town for two days but in the last town work had been hard to come by and she was nearly broke, she definitely didn't have enough money to stay somewhere nice for the night. Still though, she needed somewhere to stay. It wasn't safe to be outside at night. She stopped suddenly, looking around before letting out a frustrated groan. She'd wandered through a back ally of sorts while not paying attention and had appeared on an unfamiliar street. "Wonderful, I don't know where I am" she muttered softly taking in a deep breath as she pinched the bridge of her nose. While usually calm this was one thing that could annoy Ix to no end. She hated being in unfamiliar places and was very upset with herself for not mapping out the whole town upon her arival. Pushing hair away from her eyes she looked around for anyone or any place where she could ask for directions and possibly, a place to stay.
