Tilted his head, Hyena held his hand out to Ix. In his palm materalized a clip to keep her hair back. "No need to summon Cerberus," he said. "Hyena can protect you just fine. He is much more adept at fighting than he seems." He turned his head to Ren, blinking his eyes. "What time did you say that soldier was due to relieve you?" he asked. He mentally scanned the area; so far he didn't sense anything aggressive; that other dragon hadn't done anything to set his defenses up. Not yet, anyway.

"Oh, thank you, you really are so very helpful" she said taking the clip from him. She pushed her hair back and clipped it into place happy to have it out of her eyes. She looked around noticing how dark it had gotten. "Maybe we should go inside" she said quietly looking up to gaze at the moon. The pale light reflected in her eyes a bit and made the light blue glow softly. It was strange she thought, she'd seen her eyes like that before it and to her it was strange.

"He should be here at 5. Seems to me it's around midnight already, so we should probably hit the sack." Renali led the way to the guard house, first taking down a barrier and then unlocking the numerous locks on the door. It was a pain, but the guard house was also meant to house the citizens if needed to. Inside the house were neat beds with tucked sheets, and several desks for paperwork. "Please, make yourself at home. We really should get some sleep."

"Hyena can keep watch until you two wake up," Hyena said. "He is not tired. He can sleep when we reach Saiferr." He looked around, eyes scanning the room. "Humans use fire for light," he murmured to himself. He shook his head, smiling. It was a good thing they used small amounts of it since fire could be so fickle. Often times it bit the hand that fed it, no matter how good one was at playing with fire.

Ix looked around for a moment before moving over to a bed. "Oh, a real bed, how nice" she said running a hand over the sheets. "I'm so tired" she murmured yawning. She set down her package on the floor, slipped off her shoes and the vest over her dress and sat down on the bed. "Well, goodnight you two" she said happily sighing in contentment as she leaned back onto the bed, a real bed, so much better than a pile of straw or cloth like she usually got.

"Thank you, Hyena." Renali shot the dragon a grateful look. She was tired as well. "Good night, Ix, Hyena. Sleep well." As she lay down on her bed, she flicked just her index toward the door, sending a bit of her magic out for protection. Yawning, she rubbed her eyes and it was blackout. [ooc: Let's wait for Uwi. :3]

[To keep this board up...] Hyena smiled faintly. He sat against a the wall, close to the door. "Sleep well, you two. Long journey ahead..." he murmured softly. He closed his dark eyes, vizualizing what this town had been like before. Not a very big one, really. But it was prospering, at least, or it had been. He opened his eyes again and stared at the floor. Saiferr was a little bigger, if he remembered. He'd have to map out the land in his head in order to complete the jobs given to him, or else he'd be in trouble... [Might wanna skip to morning. Just a thought. Even though it's my rp I wanna get you all's consent in case you had something else in mind.]

[Alrighty] "Wakey wakey, human cubs, Hyena has to escort you pretty ladies to Saiferr," Hyena called cheerily. He strode around the room, opening windows and whatnot. "Come on, get up, eat breakfast, wash, do whatever, you just need to get up!" The light streamed in, brightening the room instantly. "Come on, Hyena won't wait forever. It's an hour after dawn and he's getting restless."

Ix sat up groggily shaking her head and blinking her eyes at the new light. "Oh, um good morning Hyena" she smiled at him stretching her arms. Slowly she willed herself to move out of the bed, setting her feet on the floor. She grabbed her vest and slipped it on over the dress and then put on her shoes. "Anything eventful happen while we were sleeping?" she asked taking the clip from her hair so she could smooth it out before putting it back in. She grabbed her little bundle of food off the floor untied it and pulled out a medium sized loaf of bread. "Want some?" she asked.

Ren stretched. Her muscles ached a bit. "We have to hurry; guard will be here so--" she stopped, and opened the door to the source of the knocking sound. The guard stood outside, bleary-eyed and tired from the night's journey to the empty town. He was almost asleep on his feet. "--soon," the girl finished. Carefully, she filled a bag with supplies for the journey and took a pouch full of coins from a nearby drawer. Then, she tidied herself up. "I suppose we can stay at an inn when we reach Saiferr," she said as she reached for an apple from a bowl of fruit. [ooc: So how's everyone? :3]

"No, Hyena is fine. Do not worry about him. We need to hurry, the beasts will be awake soon. We need to get going before those beasties catch on that we are moving. They will hunt for us, those greedy animals." Hyena scowled a bit, calculating what sorts of danger they'd be up against. Most likely daytime predators. Probably nocturnal ones, too. He folded his arms, several thoughts running through his head. "Okay. Okay, slowpokes. Head out. The predators have probably just eaten, you are safe for now, but we need to move."

((I'm fine. You? ^^ )) Ix nodded and took a bite out of the bread before putting it back in its wrappings. "Well, I'm ready to go if you two are" she said looking from person to person. "Oh, woops one second" she seemed to remember something. She slid her hand into a vest pocket and from it pulled a small silver stick with a blue jewel on the top. "I should probably have this out" she laughed sheepilshly facing away from her new comanions she flicked her wrist out and the stick slid out into a longish rod. "Alright, now I'm ready" she said tieing the bundle of food to a strap around her waist.

"Wow, wish I had one," Renali whistled at the Ix's rod. After a minute of last checkings, she gave the guard house key to the new arrival. He mumbled his thanks and just flopped on the bed, fast asleep and snoring. Renali led the way to the back gates of the town, stopping at first sight of a path. "Well, I brought maps...but they're from the guard house, so I'm not sure how updated it is. I think I'll leave the navigating in your hands, Hyena," Renali flashed a somewhat apologetic smile. "I'm pretty bad with directions." [ooc: Yaaay, journey in the rp time.~ I'm good. Glad the weekend is coming up. xD ]

[I'm fine too. (: I knew I forgot something in my last post...] Hyena nodded. "He knows the way. Do not worry." He cast a final glance at the ruined town before stalkingout of the gates and around them. Hidden from view from the rest of the humans, he mumbled a few words; his body transformed back into that of his normal form. He immediately lifted his head, ears perked, and looked around. "Just as he thought, all quiet for now. Right, follow Hyena, he will not lead you into danger." At least, he hoped he wouldn't. He was sure the territories had changed, though, since he'd last been awake.

Ix stared wide eyed at Hyena for a moment a little stunned. It was understandable, she'd never seen a dragon before and he had had the form of a man only moments ago. After getting over the initial shock Ix smiled "right, let's go then" she said with a short nod, bringing her arm up to rest the rod against her shoulder. "It'd be nice to get there with no beastly encounters" she said, mostly to herself, with a slight laugh.

"Indeed," Renali said. Curiously, she looked to and fro from Hyena to Ix. "You two are experienced travelers...what kind of beasts our out there? I've never really gone far from towns or cities because of my duties." Her eyes roamed across the surroundings as the trio walked. It was a fresh sight to her. [Same as Res time] "Not sure about Ix, but the beasts Hyena have encountered are enough to to give you nightmares for the rest of your life. Lucky it is not the season for undeads, they are worst." Hyena laughed softly at Ix's shock. "Keep it a secret, Ix, it is not good for people to find out Hyena is a dragon." He started walking, looking rather unconcerned. "Hurry up, pretty ladies, neither time nor predators wait."

"Alright" Ix said to Hyena "I'm good at keeping secrets... and wow, undead creatures? Sounds scary" she whispered the last part. "I've come across bears, wolves, large hostile birds, once a giant snake... though the snake was in the mountains... Um, oh giants, trolls and a golem" she laughed softly. "That was not one of my better encounters" she sighed at the memory. She looked around and smiled, traveling was one of the things she'd grown to really like, new sights and new faces were always welcome. She followed close to the others walking at a steady pace. ((Standard Pacific Time two hours behind Res time ^^))

[Ohh. Same here, two hours before Res time. :D Although I forget sometimes, which makes me late with buying stocks. :( ] Ren heard of trolls and golems before, but only a few lores about the undead. "Hope we don't ever meet one. How on earth would you go against something like that?" She raised her brow. Stretching her arms, she looked at the sky, judging that they head been walking for a while. "How long 'till Saiferr?" She drank a bit of her water from a jug she had in her pack. In each waterskin, she had infused some herbs into it to replenish their strength. She was no powerful mage, but at least she had some healing abilities--though they were not fully trained nor maximized.
