Carlisle rose up from bed, stretching. Today was the day that he decided to welcome Akilina's attention. He had admired her beauty and personality. But how should he break it to her that he wanted to be his girlfriend? "Oh, hey, Akilina, I love you."

No, that would sound mushy, Carlisle decided. He sat on bed pondering.

Rhiannon always seemed to know what her brother was thinking, as if printed on his forehead. "Like a girl?" she laughed. "I love Shane, that's it. We're pretty much a good couple. "

Carlisle nodded. "It's Akilina. I just don't know how to express my love."

Rhiannon leaned over and told her brother her plan. "That's a great one. The girl would fall for you, I'm sure."

Carlisle nodded. He would begin immediately. He ran to Gifts for Love, a flower shop. "I shall order one dozen long-stemmed roses every day, and send it to this address. Please, do not include my name. Do make a small teddy bear hug the bouquet." The shopkeeper smiled. "For your loved one, no?" Carlisle nodded. "I'm trying to court her. I don't know if she has the same feeling for me." 

That night a bouquet was sent to Akilina's home. 

When a doorbell rang, Aki slipped from sleep into half-awakeness. She didn't know why she had fallen asleep, she just had. She rubbed her eyes, trying to seem more awake, but when she went to answer the door, all she found were flowers.She stared at them for a few moments and then picked them up, examining every inch to make sure that water wasn't going to squirt out of them if she took off the teddy bear.

When Akilina aw the stuffed animal, her eyes lit. she did not speak, but she hugged it close. It looked exactly like one she had lost when her friend had kicked it down the gutter. Needless to say, she wasn't friends with the boy for long. She went back to her room after setting the flowers in a gl*censored* with water. She untied the ribbon, but all it said was From your secret Admirerer. She sighed and fell asleep, the teddy bear and ribbon in hand...
