Melanie sighed again and looked up to the ceiling for a moment before walking after Silvie.

"I know...I know how you feel, Silvie. But it's not going to make it any better by holding it all in."

"Silvie." Melanie swallowed air.

"I'm not sure if I've told you this. My motto, the thing I live by, is No Regrets. I've never had a single regret. Until this happened." She sighed. "Not because I got 'caught' or anything. Because I lost almost everyone I absolutely love. I lost Stefan. I lost Severus. But most importantly, I lost a girlfriend. A sister." Melanie looked into Silvie's eyes. "I lost you." She thought for a moment, then started to speak again.

"When Damon and I..." She didn't say the actual word. "We were both angry. Both sorry for ourselves...not that that's an excuse or anything. It isn't. What we had done was absolutely, one-hundred-percent wrong. More wrong than me sucking my teacher's face off." She gave Silvie a small smile.

"Damon loves you. Not me. He was meant for you. He can have you, I don't want him. I don't deserve him. No way in hell am I ever going to be able to look at him again.

"And I don't love Damon. It wasn't like we confessed our undeniable adoration to each other last night. What I realized was...I only love Damon...Like a brother, or a pet fish. 'Course, I wouldn't want to flush him down the toilet when he died, but could you imagine how awkward it would be to kiss your pet fish? That's how it felt. I felt nothing between us. Not that spark that you get when you kiss someone you love for the first time.

"I'm not asking you to forgive me. Hell, I'd totally understand if after this you walk away and never spoke to me again. I just wanted you to listen. To let you know that I will never, ever do anything to hurt you-or anyone else-ever again. I am so damn sorry."

Silvie rose an eyebrow, the cold look still sealed on her face.  "I believe, everything happens for a reason.  That's my motto." she began in the empty tone that was unlike her.  "There was areason that Damon and you..." she swallowed.  "Kissed." she finally said after several moments.  "Caught in the moment?  I dont go by excuses."  she said each word like venom on her tounge.  "Perhaps there was a reason that no matter what we did, something always came in between Damon and myself.  The people around us... his feelings for Granger and you... and then a larger, but still a FRACTION for me." she stated, her fists clenching, her eyes were fixated on Melanie now.  Unblinking. Empty. 

Her next words stung her more then ever before.  "Perhaps there was a reason Draco kissed me." she stated, stalking back up the stairs without another word.

((dont worry, she'll come around,  just being difficult.))

"Wait," Melanie called, Following Silvie and stopping her. "You know Damon doesn't really like Hermione." Melanie rolled her eyes. "He does that to tick me off. And...about me...I'm pretty sure he doesn't have feelings for me, either. I know I don't really have a...'crush' on him, if you will.

"You know Damon loves you. He hasn't exactly said it to you, straight to your face yet, but can't you tell? You don't know how many times he's said he loves you just this morning. Give that boy another chance, Silvie, even if you don't give me one. At least talk to him. He's nothing without you. I can't even make fun of him and get a witty remark back."

Damon traveled through the corridors, his mind on his brother. He finally came to his sense, climbing through a window and finding his brother perched on the edge of the roof, overlooking the forest.

"I don't want to hear it, Damon." Stefan said quietly. Dangerously. 

((My keyboard is on crack. And NU! Why?))

"Just... Hear me out? Please?" Damon begged. Stefan sighed, turning to him.

"What can you tell me? You broke one girl's heart and f*cked up the relationship of another. But hey, that's a new record." Stefan said sarcastically, sliding off the roof and through the window.

Damnit. Damon could get no breaks. 

Damon turned, immediately thanking God. Silvie just climbed up. He followed silently, stopping behind her.

"Can I talk to you?"
