Melanie gave Snape a small smile, then raised her hand. "It makes you able to walk through black fire unharmed, am I right?" She said, feeling like Hermoine. She bit down on her lip.

Melanie joked as she walked into the room after dinner. She had just gotten through another word-fight with Hermoine; though she wouldn't admit it, Melanie was glad that she got to go back to Snape. He would help her calm down and return to her normal self.

"No. You're not," Melanie agreed, looking at him again. Her eyes lingered there for a moment longer than they should have, but then she looked at her textbook and flipped to page three hundred. It was incredibly hard to stay focused, her mind kept thinking about Snape, which was bad...really bad. He was a teacher, it disgusted her...

Severus adverted his eyes, desperately trying to stop his train of thoughts. It was wrong to be this close to her, to a student. He didn't really know anything about her, only her family line.
