It was Thanksgiving. That meant it was only a few weeks until Christmas vacation. Sh!t.

Severus awoke with a start, his breath shallow. He thought the days where he feared the images of his slumber were over. 

"What's wrong?" Melanie asked, suddenly next to the couch that he was sleeping on.

"Fine. Whatever." Melanie gathered her things and stormed out the door.

I mean, what would Damon do without Silvie? He'd have to go back making out with Mel, and we all know that isn't a good idea...xD))

Melanie glared at the door once and then walked down the hallway, heading for the Girl's dormitories. She had to pretend that she'd been sleeping there all night, of course. She tip-toed up the stairs, and walked to her bed even more so quietly so none of them would wake. No wonder she felt like she hadn't slept at all. It was still pretty early.

Melanie put her clothes back in her suitcase and her sleeping bag and pillow underneath her bed, and then un-tidied her bed a little so people would think she already had woken up. She went into the bathroom and brushed her teeth. She splashed water on her face. Damn, she looked tired too. Shurgging, Melanie decided that a shower would probably help that. She undressed and stepped in, taking her sweet time.

Unconsciously, Melanie began to hum The Promise by In This Moment. She knew all of the words, but something in the back of her mind told her not to sing them out loud or someone would her. Once she began to realize what she was doing, though, she began to sing the words softly. "It's haunting, this hole that you have over me, I grow so weak..." Melanie sang, and then froze. "Holy. Sh!t."

Severus found himself softly humming the beat of one of his favorite songs, an unconscious act that he did when distracted.

"I see you, and everything around you fades..." "Crap."

"I can't take what you're doing to me, I can't take it..." Melanie sang. She wished she could've screamed it like the singer did in the song, but she was afraid of people hearing. She wanted to keep singing, though. This was helping. Too much.

"The only promise I can make you..." Severus stood, making his way to his entertainment center and starting the song. He grabbed his wand, soundproofing the room before blasting the music as loud as possible.

"Is that my promise is a lie."
