Melanie got out of the shower, singing "No matter what I say or what I do, I know how this will end," while using her wand as a blowdryer. She slid on dark jeans and a tight grey shirt before putting her robes on over it. She walked out of the bathroom, reducing the singing to a hum as she pa.ssed her cla.ssmates. In one quick motion, Melanie grabbed her bag and strode out the door, heading for Snape's almost instinctively. She didn't bother knocking and let herself in, and was surprised to hear the same song she was just singing. Melanie looked up at Severus. "I was just singing the same exact song," She said. "It's one of my favorites." The funny thing was that it hadn't been her favorite song. Not until now.

"Oh, and I'm sorry. About earlier. I was just worried about you." Melanie looked down at her feet. "It was kind of dramatic of me." She laughed once.

Melanie snorted. "In case you forgot, I witnessed my parents' death, nearly got out alive that same day, had to save my brother, and then as a reward got to live in a cupboard for 10 years. Yeah, that's not fu.cked up at all!"

"What it is you do to me." Melanie sang Maria Brink's part almost unconciously. She always sang her part while listening to this song, and she did now, even if it was softly.
