Snape made his way towards his desk, his eyes lingering on Harry Potter and his friends a millisecond longer than the rest of the cla.ss.

"Now, O.W.L.s are near. Moronic though some of this cla.ss undoubtedly are," He started, his eyes resting on Harry while the Slytherins sniggered." I expect you to scrape an 'Acceptable' in your O.W.L., or suffer my... displeasure." He finished.

"I only take students who managed an 'O' in my N.E.W.T cla.sses."

"I know me and Ron are," Harry replied, smirking. "I need to get that 'O', we want to be aurors." He explained.

Hearing Harry whispering, Severus' lip curled. "Mr. Potter, let's just say you'd be lucky to get a 'P' in my cla.ss, do I make myself clear?" 

Snape turned to her, raising an eyebrow.

"Good thing you decided on that course of work, because I don't see you getting an 'O', either." 

Melanie grumbled something that sounded like "A.sshole," before deciding to ignore Snape once again, and nibbled quietly on her breakfast.

Snape turned back to Melanie, quirking an eyebrow before turning around, an amused look on his face. He had to admit, that girl had spunk, and an additude to rival his own. 

Melanie was smiling. She liked arguing with Snape for some reason, he was a worthy opponent, someone she could fight back with. 

"What are you smiling about?" Hermione asked, staring at her like she was insane. "You just learned that there's no hope in you getting an 'O' in potions, and that you're about two seconds from getting detention from Snape."

Melanie rolled her eyes. "Detention doesn't scare everyone, Hermione."
