Melanie almost smiled when she saw Stefan, but shook her head at the words. "But you shouldn't. And neither should he." Melanie eyed the necklace, a twisted pain growing in her chest as she looked at it. "Damn, I love him, Stefan." She looked back up at him.

Then they repeat that cycle. "Except there's one thing different about my situation and those movies. In those movies the couple always ends up together. I can't say the same about me and Severus."
