Melanie followed him, almost skidding like a car when she turned just as sharply, but kept her balance and sped back up, getting all-too-close to him. She streched out her hand, her fingers, but there was still a couple inches of a gap.

Severus turned right into the staircase, taking the steps three at a time, demolishing the task. At this rate, they'll wake up the whole school. Oh well.

Melanie jumped from the fourth stair up to the bottom of the set of the stairs, landing with her knees bent but quickly regained her running position and bounded after him. She wondered how loud they were being, before she decided that she didn't care.

Melanie was caught up in another fit of giggles as Severus nearly hit the poster. "Smooth move," She called, running down the stairs faster. She was only a few feet away from him now.

"Oh, you think you're funny." Severus said sarcastically. He looked around. SHe was getting close, and there were only a couple more staircases to go. Severus looked at the portraits, grabbing a vacant one. He smirked as he flung it at the stairs, jumping on it just in time and surfing down the steps comically.

"I'm damn hilarious," Melanie answered simply, before bursting out laughing at Severus' actions. She laughed even harder when she caught the muffled complaints of the portrait he was 'surfing' on. She continued racing after him, on foot, mind you. ((Brb, shower.))

"Yeah, you would see what all the commotion was too if someone just stepped on you and rode on top of you like a skateboard!" The annoyed-looking face responded, which only made Melanie laugh harder. She felt like her sides were going to burst. She hadn't laughed in...a month? Month in a half? This much, anyway.

Severus only laughed harder. Wow, this was fun. He jumped off the portrait, dashing off. One more staircase left. He grinned to himself, jumping over the banister and free-falling to the marbvle floor. "Ha!"

Melanie laughed again, copying his movements and landed on her heels, rolling so she was on flat-foot again. She grabbed him by the arm when she caught up. "Gotcha," She said, her eyes twinkling.
