Melanie's gaze lingered at Severus for one last moment before going to sit down to a surprisingly-not-mad Hermione. Had Harry really kept it a secret? One exchanged glance with him proved that he had, not wanting her to be mad if he wasn't to tell anyone. Being brother and sister, they could speak without words. She gave him a thankful look, then threw an arm around 'Mione's shoulder. "I miss you," She said, kissing her best friend...well, one of them, anyway, on the cheek. Hermione looked at Melanie like she had two heads for a second, but then returned the hug. "Miss you too, Mel."

Harry nodded. "Yeah, I'm all right," He said, grinning at Stefan. "Err, 'Mione, can I talk to you? Like, privately?" Melanie asked, standing up. "Sure, Mel, what's up?" Hermione asked, mimicking Melanie's actions. Melanie guided Hermione to the entrance of the Great Hall, where nobody would hear them. "'Mione..." She started. "I...." She wasn't sure how to put the whole situation into words. "I kind of have a...thing...with Se- Professor Snape." She scratched the back of her neck, feeling the blush on her cheeks. Hermione's eyes flashed with anger, but only for a moment. Then she shrugged. "I knew it was gonna happen, anyway. I just was trying not to believe it." She sighed. "I would've hoped that you'd've been more careful about the whole thing, and mature, considering it's illegal, and-" Melanie cut her off. "Shut up, smart ass." She said, laughing. Hermione started to say something, but Melanie stopped her. "Yes, you can tell Ron."
