Melanie closed her eyes, and drifted off to sleep in his arms. ((Skip to uh, somewhere in the middle of the night.)) Melanie saw a bright green flash of light. Ugh, here was the dream again. She was used to it now, seeing her mother's face right before she was hit with-wait, that wasn't Lily. Who was that? Seeing only a shadow of the person hit with the Killing Curse, Melanie ran up to it to get a better view. "Severus." The name came out of her mouth in the dream, and in her sleep back in the real world. Next thing she remembered was crying, and then the horrible face of Voldemort, the same look he had given the night Mel and Harry almost died. Melanie woke up, gasping for air. She felt herself crying, though she didn't remember when. "Severus," She said again, this time awake. She wrapped her arms around his neck, crying into his shoulder. ((I like spicing things up, you see. 8D))

Melanie only brought him closer to her. As close as they could get. She said nothing, trying to stop the tears from flowing.

Severus then started the kisses. To her forehead, eyelids, cheeks, chin. Everywhere, just so that she could stop crying.

His lips on her skin seemed to calm Melanie down a bit. He's still here; he's okay. Eventually she got herself to stop trying, convinced now that it was only a dream. It felt so real, though...

Severus rocked her back and forth, his hand at her back not stopping it's soothing pattern. That was when the pain started. Severus hissed, jumping up and grabbing at his left wrist. He looked down at his now clear Dark Mark. It slithered, the pain becoming consistent.

"What's wrong?" Melanie asked, afraid again. She stared up at him, then down at his wrist where his Dark Mark was clearly visible.

"Melanie, was Harry the only one to die when you killed Voldemort?" Severus asked quickly, his eyes wide.

"Go get Damon and Stefan. Tell your friends, if you want. But no one else!" Severus said as he bounded out the door with Tobi on his tail. "No, watch her." He told the dog. Tobi barked, walking over to Melanie. Severus took the stairs three at a time, the opening to Dumbledore's office taking way too long to open. He walked in to a sleepy eyed Dumbledore. "He's back." Severus said, shoving his arm in his direction. |
