Melanie's eyes never drifted away from Severus' as they all promised to protect her and her friends. She felt like crying. All these people, here for her...What did she ever do to deserve this? She smiled, feeling totally safe now. Ron, who was sitting next to her, took her hand and squeezed it, and she squeezed it back. Hermione was looking at Stefan the whole time, wishing she could run up and kiss him right then.

A bolt of blue light shot from the ceiling and hit everyone who sweared to protect the students, ending the 'ceremony'. Severus and Remus sat, a heavy weight suddenly on their shoulders.

Melanie, Harry and Ron all groaned. No Quidditch. Hermione, however, seemed to be quite excited that Quidditch games were cancelled, which made the other three glare at her.
