Melanie crossed things out, deciding it sounded too sappy. Finally she looked it over, realizing how crazy it was of her to take that long. Although things were crossed out (everything from "I love you more than anything" to "big nose"), the final message wasn't that big of a deal.

Hedwig ruffled her fathers. She was known for being a fast owl. She hopped to the edge of the bed, spreading her wings and soaring out of the room.

Melanie smiled, watching Hedwig go. She leaned over and grabbed her guitar, finding nothing better to do. She strummed the song that she and Sev had sang-"Lucky"-and hummed the melody softly.

Severus opened the window, Hedwig flying right in and perching herself on his headboard. He looked over at the bird, chuckling. Hedwig stuck her leg out to him, hooting once, urging him on. He walked over, taking the rool of parchment and smiling at the words. He reached into his pocket, pulling out his newly purchased iPhone. He spent the whole train ride reading the manual. I miss you too, he sent, getting partially furstrated when he tried to type a word and the touch screen misspelled it.

Melanie stopped when she heard the iPhone ring and the screen light up. She picked it up, reading the message and smiling. I'm surprised you managed to figure out how to text so quickly.

Sure, but you're not exactly a big muggle-contraption guy, Melanie sent back, growling when the iPhone changed muggle to muffle. Luckily she caught it before she sent it.

The Tobi thing is totally taken care of. Melanie yelled "Dudley!" And the boy rushed in with a large, raw t-bone on a silver platter. He looked scared of the dog as he sat it down next to Tobi, then ran out as fast as his fat body could. Melanie laughed. I can make my cousin do anything.
