Aurora watched silently from her perch atop a high rock, as Borealis stalked an invisible deer. The red dragon was still young, and Aurora was highly amused by the male's antics. She wrapped her tail around the rock, tilting her head to appear much like a cat. She caught every movement around the small bit of running river, for to her, Borealis was like a son, for she was not the sister he believed her to be. When Borealis had been old enough to see that she was bigger than him, she had replied calmly with, 'Oh, we are the same age, twins, only you haven't gotten a growth spurt yet.'

Of course, it wasn't true. Exactly 20 years ago, she had found Borealis outside her house, intentionally left for her. She sighed. it had been harder, as he had gotten older, to keep him from wondering why she was never doing what he did. Acting like a young dragon should. She replied that since their mother had abandoned tham at a young age, she had taken care of them both. It was entirely the truth. Not only had Borealis been left on her doorstep, but Aurora, too, had been abandoned as a hatchling, growing up with dae as her father-figure, though he had no mate.

Dae walked up beside the rock, watching Borealis. He saw Aurora's tail flick toward him, a signal for him to join her on the rock. He jumped up, his claws grabbing footholds as he climbed to a spot to the left and slightly lower than Aurora. She spoke, her voice concerned and soft.
"When should I tell him, Dae? You know what that note said...He's so peaceful...it must be him!"

ZYnonia was calmly sunning herself on a large, lumpy rock.  She didn't particullarly mind the cold air during the winter, because she was kept warm enough by her scales and immense body heat.  She opened her eyes slightly as she heard some stones shift behind her.  She was about to get onto her feet to see what it was, but something pounced on her before she was even on her paws.

Santeact stalked her target gfleafully, tail swishing in excitment.  He loved doing this.  His current target was a dragon her knew well.  One with black scales and purple horns.  He snuck up quietly, accidentally slipping on a few stone.  Before the other dragon could investigate the noise, he pounced on them playfully with a loud and equally playful roar.

Zynonia quickly realized who had leaped on her by the sound of the roar.  In a second, she was on her paws and trying to shake Santeact off. " Gyah!  Get off of me you little rogue! " She had been putting up with him for the last five months and was sick of him already.  She wished he could find some other place with other dragon to annoy and leave her alone for once.

Santeact held on for as long as he could, enjoying the entire event thoroughly.  After all, what could be more fun for a young dragon than bothering an older one?  However, his silly antics didn't last for more than a minute as he was flung off when Zynonia's tail slammed into his side.  He hit the ground with a soft thud and slid for a few feet before stopping.

Zynonia snorted, thinking he deserved the punishment he had gotten.  She then shifted a few thing around her and there, curled up on her rock, and resumed sunning while she watched Santeact to make sure he didn't do anything to stupid when he got back on his paws.

Dae was suddenly alert of a loud, despite playful roar, followed by a hard smack. He sighed.
"With this being the only water not frozen over for miles, trouble is bound to occur."
He leapt from the rock, then bounded toward where Zynonia and Santeact were.
