It was Kye that brought her phone out to her.
"Hey, you," he said, still groggy from sleep. Jai looked across the pen at him from the bare back of a sorrel quarter horse mare, bow at the ready. She fumbled the blunted arrow.
"Kye!" She exclaimed and nudged the horse closer with pressure from her thighs and stopping short with the arrow against his chest. "Dont do that when Im about to fire!" Jai whirled around, took aim in a split second, and fired the arrow she used to practice her mounted archery. Kye blinked.
"Yeesh. Sorry. Anyway, Emily texted. Wants you to meet her." His sister took the profered phone and looked at it.
"This was half an hour ago..."
Kye shrugged. "I was sleeping," and ignored her sigh as she slipped off the horse and retrieved the arrow from the second ring in the target, glaring slightly at the shaft.
"Guess I should go then. And hope they're still there...how'm I gunna get to the park?"
"Beats me. Mam and da are out workin somewhere."
Jai looked at her brother and grinned, ran, and vaulted back onto the horses back, who then shook her head, making the lead rope sway. "If they get back before me, tell them I took Sis out for a ride in the park. Shouldnt take long. Too. Bye."
When Jai got to the park after a fifteen minute trot down the roads and sidewalks, it took her a few moments to catch sight of the fellow band members...after a jog down the trail. When she did, she slowed Sis down to a walk until she reached them. She tugged the rope twice, said "Woah," and slid off the back. "Did I miss anything?" She asked, picking leaves and the like out of her hair.
((I really do have a life....I just typed huge. They wont all be this long. Count on it. XD))
