Ari shook his head. "Nope, it's just them. They work fine with me, and they've known each other for a while now, so I decided I don't need any more pokemon at the moment." He paused, looking up at Elodie. "Plus, the price of pokeballs keeps rising, and I really don't want to buy more. It's a lot easier not thinking about what to do if I want to try to capture a pokemon."
Ari looked down at Cinder, hearing him make a noise. "He he okay?"

Elodie nodded. Ari had a point. Pokeballs were becoming more expensive, but that was no obstacle for her. Her parents were wealthy, and they sent her off with a good amount of money, which she had safely stashed in a bank account.
When he mentioned Cinder, she bit her lip. "Yeah. Cinder just needs to go outside." She gave him a small smile. "To do some business."

"You're free to go if you want." Ari gestured to the door. "You don't need to stay and talk to me. I won't mind if you leave." Hey, if a dog's gotta go, he gotta go. Ari really didn't know Cinder that much, and he didn't know how long he could hold it in before having an accident.

Elodie smiled. "Well, I'll see you around, then." She stood from her chair and nodded at Ari before looking down to Cinder. "C'mon, boy," she said as she walked off.
Once she was outside, she walked out of the town and into a lesser populated area of the town, which had trees beside the sidewalks, and such things. She let Cinder wander around, keeping her eyes on him, and watched as wild pokemon moved around.
Caterpies, burmies, and some grass-type pokemon that she couldn't name right off the top of her head moved around, interracting with eachother.

Ari waved goodbye to Elodie as she left. Then, after sitting around for another few minutes, he got up and walked out of the cafe himself, smiling at the bell chimes. He looked up at the sky and was gritted with a few fluffy clouds and some bird pokemon flying about.
Ari started heading back to the Pokecenter when he passed a vender who was selling fresh berries. Ari picked out a few sweet looking Oran berries to give to Natu and Hoothoot later when they were feeling better. He payed the man and moved on.
The trainer watched as the doors to the Pokecenter slid open on their own. Sometimes he wondered what made them move, but usually he didn't care. He could always just ask someone who looked smart, but...
Nurse Joy welcomed Ari as he stepped into the pokemon clinic. "Hello. How are they doing?" He asked hopefully.
"They're doing much better. Your natu has woken up and hoothoot should be waking in an hour or so. You'll probably be able to take them around town tomorrow."

Elodie yawned and slowly- but surely- got out of bed. Cinder had curled up at the foot of her bed and the auburn-haired girl had to make sure not to kick her pokemon in her sleep. She had taken a shower the night before, so she had no reason to take one this morning.
She slipped on her last pair of clean clothes, reminding herself to go to a laundromat this evening. She walked out of her room with her bag in her hand and stretched like a cat. Her silver shirt made her eyes pop slightly. Today she went with shorts, given that the weather forecast had said that it would be warmer.
She walked to the same cafe that she had breakfast in the day before, and hoped that Ari would do the same. She liked talking to him- he could carry on a good conversation, she decided. Ordering the same thing that she had the day before, she sat at a table near the window and began to eat.

Ari ended up waking up after Elodie did, but it wasn't like he actually knew that. He took a quick shower and put on some of the new clothes he had bought the day before. They felt a lot fresher than his old ones that he had worn for three days in a row.
He walked to the front counter and hit the bell on it a few times. The nurse showed up nearly a minute later with a bright smile on her face. "Good morning, Ari. I was just about to call you down. Your pokemon are in a good enough condition that you can take them out." She put two pokeballs on the counter in front of Ari.
Ari took was about to take them when Nurse Joy started speaking again. "Just make sure you come back, they still need a lot of rest. And don't get into a battle, their condition could worsen severely if you allow them to fight."
The trainer held his hands of defensively. "Don't worry, I'm not going to do anything like that. I'm just going to take them around and maybe let them meet Elodie and Cinder." The nurse nodded and Ari took the pokeballs.
Once he left the center, he let Natu and Hoothoot out. Both of his birds seemed delighted to see him. Ari told them that he was going to try to meet up with a new friend of his, and they landed on him, the hoothoot taking one of his shoulders, and Natu perching on his head.
Ari tried not to rush to the cafe, but he was soon walking through the entrance and looking around hopefully.

Elodie was into the third bite of her donut, washing it down with a sip of coffee, when she saw something so amusing that she started choking. She coughed a moment, and her throat was cleared, but she had tears of laughter running down her face.
Cinder cocked his head at his master. What was wrong with this human?
Elodie waved for Ari to come sit at her table. The sight of two bird pokemon on one person, one on a shoulder and one on his head sent Elodie into a laughing fit. It was just something she had never seen before.
Cinder turned to look at the pokemon on Ari. His tail wagged. Those were the pokemon that he had seen behind the glass, he remembered. His tongue lolling out of his mouth, he let out a bark.

Ari smiled and walked over to her, sitting down at the seat across from hers. He glanced around before giving his hand to the hoothoot, who jumped on the appendage, and brought him down to the edge of the table to perch on. He hadn't seen any signs anywhere saying that pokemon weren't allowed on tables, but he was still hesitant on letting Hoothoot on it. His shoulder was started to hurt, though, so the bird got to be on the table. Ari let Natu stay on his head, she like it there where she could easily see nearly everything in the room.
"What are you laughing at?" Ari asked, trying to keep a straight face. He bet that he looked ridiculous walking into the cafe with his birds on him.

Elodie giggled and said, "You have two bird pokemon on you. One on your head, and one on your shoulder. When you walked in here, you looked ridiculous." Elodie was being honest, and she hoped he didn't take offense to it.
Cinder put his paws up on the table and sniffed the hoothoot, dying to get a sniff on the natu, but the other bird pokemon was out of reach. Once he had registered the hoothoot's scent, he looked between Ari and Elodie, wondering if he could perch on his master's head like that. He would get a better view, for sure.
"So I take it they're doing better?" She asked, gesturing to Ari's pokemon.

Ari snorted and shook his head. "They like being on me. What else can I say?" He shrugged. "And yes, they are a lot better. I think that they only need one more night at the center and then we could go back to traveling around."
Hoothoot cooed at the dog pokemon quietly, puffing up her chest. Natu stared straight ahead at Elodie, unblinkingly. She thought the two new 'friends' of Ari's were strange. But, then again, everything seemed strange in her eyes.

Elodie smiled. "They seem to have a really close bond with you. That's wonderful," she said, looking at the natu, who was staring at her. She suddenly felt uncomfortable under the bird pokemon's unblinking gaze.
She shook it off and looked back to Ari. "That's great that you can go back to travelling tomorrow. Cinder and I will probably leave out tomorrow, too."

Ari grinned. "Thanks, that means a lot coming from you." He told her honestly. He moved Natu onto the table close to Cinder so the houndoom could smell her. He then ruffled the hoothoot's feathers. Ari grabbed his bag and pulled out one of the berries. He ripped the berry in half, trying to ignore all of the juices coming out of it.
He handed the halves to his birds, and glanced up at Elodie. "Can I give Cinder a berry?"

Elodie smiled when he thanked her. She was a bit flattered that it meant a lot coming from her. But no blush appeared on her cheeks. She fought that off with her entire being. She watched curiously as her new-found friend placed the natu onto the table.
Cinder immediately reacted to Natu's close proximity and sniffed the bird pokemon for a good few seconds, registering its scent just like it did with the hoothoot. After he was finished, he watched as the two pokemon shared a berry, and licked his lips.
Elodie nodded at Ari's question. "Sure. He hasn't had a berry in a while. I usually give him poffins. He's a huge fan of the spicy-sweet kind." She looked down at her dark and fire type pokemon with a grin on her face.

Ari grabbed another berry and gave it to Cinder. "I tried giving my gals pokeblocks and puffins before, but they never seemed to care for them. And anyway, it's a whole lot easier just giving them berries. It's not like you can just pick pre-made pokefood off bushes and trees, you know?" He joked.
He tilted his head to the side. "Oh yeah. Did you ever tell me where you were heading to exactly yeasterday? I think you might of mentioned it but..." Ari let the sentence hang. He had issues remembering things said to him sometimes.

Cinder gently took the berry out of Ari's hand, gobbling it down quickly. "I make all of my poffins with berries, so that must be why Cinder likes them so much," Elodie said, tapping her chin lightly. She looked to the ceiling and laughed at Ari's joke.
Elodie turned her attention back to Ari when he asked her if she ever told him where she was heading to. "Hm...." She paused. "I don't think I told you, but I'm trying my best to go as far east as possible. I want to see some pokemon that live in the sea," she said, smiling to herself.
