Josh fought back a smile. "Fine," he said quietly, "But it's best if we don't go far. I don't think we're in any shape for that." He brought his hand up to his torn throat, which was slowly healing. He didn't dare look at the hole in his chest. What showed through? A black, shrivelled up heart that was iron-hard? Or maybe nothing at all...

Josh shook his head. "You shouldn't be. The blade wasn't in your chest long enough to burn too much of your heart. Been there, done that." He nodded towards the hole in her chest, and then turned bright red when he realized what it seemed like he was looking at.
