Josh arched his back, clothes exploding off of his skin. Fur replaced them. He snarled, bunching his muscles in preperation to leap at the girl's throat. His wings spread from his side.

Charlotte stood in front of Kelsey, shrugging off the jacket. She snarled at herself, "Why on earth am I protecting a mundane .. ?" 

Jace turned around, grinning from ear to ear. "Looks like Joshie lost his temper." 

Jace caught sight of Josh's now-black eyes. A spark in his mind lit fire. My eyes only turn black when I loose control near blood, Josh had said, And when that happens, I kill everyone in my way. Immortal or not.

His eyes flickered to Charlotte for a second, and for that second, he actually cared. But it faded, and Jace turned back around and started to walk a little faster.

Josh snarled, swiping at Charlotte with his front paw. She cursed, and swiped back.

Kelsey blinked.

Jace chuckled. "Nah, but I don't want to have to kill Josh when he tries to rip my throat out. He's an okay kid."

Charlotte's mind thrummed, Now would be a good time for someone to show up!! Josh's claws raked across her left arm.

Raphael pushed his black hair out of his face and called, "What's going on here?" At that time, Destery was sitting in a tree, acting like a sadist and enjoying what was happening.

Jace grinned, "The kid's got a bad past. He just wants to be accepted and forget it," he added, "Which, obviously, isn't going to happen."

Josh's jaws clamped down on Charlotte's arm, and she screamed. "Who's there?" She called, narrowly dodging a blow to the face.

Kelsey nodded off.

Jace grinned. "Want to rent a hotel room for the night?" He winked.
