Dear god, Alexis, just no. Please get your facts straight before saying something like that. Emo is a music style and subculture. Although somewhat dark, emo is not, and never will be, about self harm. In every subculture, there are bound to be people who do that, but emos are not a group of that. People have turned the term emo into an insult like what you're saying. They're idiots. Please don't be an idiot by believing what the idiots tell you. It only spreads the wildfire and horrible damming mindset against a group of people who only want to express themselves.

Graveyardfox~Wow! Deep...I really don't like how the kids at my school are 'labeled' I'm safe because I have known all of them since kindergarden and I am fun to hang out with. But I see a lot of people get pushed around of because what they look like. I like Anime, a lot. But I don't tell anyone because everyone thinks Anime is for nerds,goths,and emos. It scares me so I don't say anything. I don't really know why I get so afraid of what people say in the first place...

Im not an emo, but Im dark. <--- Maybe a little twisted. But I cant stand it when people are labeled because of their style. Sometimes I am self conscious about things I like, but not because Im unsure of myself, but because Im not sure of how other people will react. Honestly, I think society today is outrageous. I mean seriously. What is a valid reason for labeling someone? why cant humans get along with their differences? If you are self conscious or insecure, just admit it and get the monkey off your back, not take it out on someone else. I think all you emos out there are awesome for appreciating your differences, and same for everyone else who has admitted theirs. <3 Punch

I absolutely *HATE* how people judge others and label them things like 'emo' in a bad way. Everyone is who they are, and that's the only thing they should be labeled as. for example, I'm Max, and Tribeka is tribeka. Everyone is unique.
I don't see why people call anyone otherwise, unless they wish to be called that, themselves. I'm not the same as you all, but I respect all of you for who you are. isn't that what's most important in life? Learning to accept, and even celebrate everyone's differences? My thoughts on the "emo labeling" thing. My friend calls herself 'emo' and I absolutely dread how she talks about herself that way, like she's exactly like everyone else who calls themselves that on this planet. |
