Hello! Welcome to today's worship!!! Our topic today is persecution. Our main ure is 1 Peter 3:17 KJV "For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing."

Even though I have taken the verse out of it's context, it already speaks a lot! It is better to suffer for good than for evil. Now, I will take the verse back into context, the way alll ure should be taken. 1 Peter 3:13-18 KJV "And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:"

Truly, some can harm our bodies, some can blemish our reputations, but who can harm our soul but God. Persecution will come to all believers, whether physical (brutal persecution in some countries) or social (being made fun of, especially on the internet.) But we can stay strong, for "But he that shall endure to the end, the same (they) shall be saved.", according to Matthew 24:13. So we will suffer as Christians, and we can let it bring us down or we can be strengthened by God, as Jesus was strengthened by God's angels in Luke 22:43 KJV"And there appeared an angel unto hHim from heaven, strengthening Him."

Bump!!  (^_^)  Not sure what to say at the moment, but when I come up with something, I will!! 

Oh, I got something!  Well, I agree that persecution is good for us, but it is so hard to take when it's from friends and familiy.  I've had trouble witnessing over the last few years because when I did, their words and misunderstanding and twisting of God's Word hurt so much.  I felt as though I didn't have a leg to stand on because I don't know everything in the Bible--which I know no one really does.  I have trouble with this because I'm afraid I don't know enough and I won't be a good enough witness to do anything--and I know better than that!  I know God's promises and I know He's faithful, and yet . . . I find myself struggling with this constantly.

I was born Catholic. I can't say I'm a die-hard Christian, because I have a lot of doubts that I need to sort out. But parts of my faith still speak strongly to me.

 1 John 3:18

"Dear children, let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and in truth."

Telling people that what you believe is simply correct is a lost cause. People need to find things out on their own. If you show your beliefs solely through your actions, people will respect you and your religion.

I'm completely and utterly lost on the religious front. But I know that I respect everyone for what they believe, and that brings me peace. One priest at my church at home always reminds people that the old testament isn't always right. He says that those who believe in God in different ways should be accepted. He's the reason that I still go to mass.

I agree with you kraine about the 'showing not saying' our religion part.
