Can pets die while in the Showroom or Rancher Shop?

(Sorry, it's been a while!) I know pets can now die, which is a hassle...But just to be sure, aren't they safe from ever dying while they are in a Showroom or a Rancher Shop? Thanks! :)

Yes they are safe as long as they remain in the showroom and rancher.
They will never age and their hunger points won't deplete.
