First, navigate to another page and click the "Preferences" button towards the bottom of the sidebar. From here, click the "Forum Options" picture and scroll to the bottom to edit your signature.
Here is the code (take the spaces out and add your own picture URL):

The URL must end with a file type, such as .jpg or .png. If you're trying to use a regular link, it won't work. :)
You can get the direct image by right clicking the picture and clicking "View Image" or "Open Image in a New Tab" or something along those lines, depending on the browser.
