THE Newbies Guide To The Rescreatu Rules
Well Hellur there :3
I did this a while back, but it had a ton of random posts interjected into it and it was sloppy and in the wrong category.
But now it is back! And better than ever, might I add, because I'm older and more experienced on Res, so I can help a lot more.
Currently this is a WIP, since I'm trying to improve it a lot from the last time, but it'll be up before you know it <3 Until then, I hope you guys enjoy your Res experience. And feel free to ask questions!

~Spamming~
This post will be all about spamming, what it is, how to stop doing it, and how to spot others' spam.

Spamming is arguably one of the most broken rules. It is what a lot of people get in trouble for, or even banned for. Hopefully this post helps you recognize the many different types of spam (also the book "The Complete Guide to Spam" can be helpful, although it is a little more strict than the current rules)
Also, any sentence in italics is Spammy Bob's words. We shall be helping Spammy Bob learn how not to spam today ^-^

~Capitalization~

First, let me start off by saying that capitalization in itself is not bad. It is when it's used in high quantities that is is bad. Here are a few examples:

I REALLY REALLY REALLY LIKE TO SPAM IT IS SUPER AMAZING AND INCREDIBLE AND OH MY GOSH SPAM YES.
Spammy Bob, that is a LOT of capitalization. Capitalizing a few words is fine, or maybe even a short sentences. But long sentences like the one up there should not be capitalized, nor should many sentences in a row.

I LovE SPamMInG BY cApItalIZing WEird LeTTerS.

Again Spammy Bob, you shouldn't capitalize like that. This is something you should never do, not even in moderation. You can capitalize The First Letter Of Every Word, Like This, but you should never capitalize random letters in the middle of a word (unless the word is something like McDonalds. That's quite acceptable).

~Punctuation~

Again, punctuation is not bad in itself, just like capitalization. But too much of a good thing is still too much.

But, I love to spam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spammy Bob, you have to realize spam is BAD, and this is just another example of spam :c When you have too many punctuation marks, it can stretch the page and is just unnecessary. A few extra punctuation marks is fine, but you shouldn't put to many. I'd say the limit is about five !!!!!

~Misspelling/ Ch4t Sp34k~

Of course, a few words misspelled are fine. Staff isn't going to get mad at you because you accidentally spelled accidentally wrong. But there comes a point when you can have too many misspellings.

Waht Eef I'm jhust nowt gude at shpelling?
Now Spammy Bob, there is a fine line between being bad at spelling and spamming with bad spelling. Most of the times spelling spams are malicious, so it is highly unlikely you'll get warned for it unless you are trying too.
But spelling and chat speak go hand in hand in the spammy department. A lot of times, you'll only get warned if you are doing both at the same time. If you don't know what chat speak is, I'm using a quote from the book "The Complete Guide to Spam", because I have trouble telling what it says myself.:

1 am teh n00bz0rz cuz I am lyke teh sp4ammerzorz.
Obviously, here at Res we would like you to put your best foot forward when talking to someone. Talking like this is not only hard to read, but it also makes you seem less competent than you really are, because we here know that you all are beautiful and extremely smart people. You just have to do your part and confirm our first thoughts.

~Excessive Smilies~

This is not to say that you can't use smilies. In fact, I do so all the time :D But there comes a point when you can use too many.

But Smilies are the best omg D: D: D: D: D: D: :C
Spammy Bob, I understand your enthusiasm because smilies are incredible. However, your disappointment could have been expressed with one or two smilies; seven was quite unnecessary. Also, if you are so fond of smilies, I would like to note that although it is okay on the shoutbox (if you are under 13 and you don't know what the shoutbox is, don't worry), on the forums you can't really post posts with just a smile in them. A post with only a smile in it can be considered spammy if done to often.

~No Spaces~

As with most of the other rules, you can do a little bit of this without it being spam, but you can have excess of it.

IthinkIamstartingtorealizewhatspamis.
I'm glad to hear that, Spammy Bob, but we aren't quite done yet. As perfectly shown by you, that is a sentence without the space key. As I've said before, this is okay in moderation. But doing a ton of sentences or maybe even a paragraph with no spaces is just too much. It stretches the page and can be really confusing to read.

In Conclusion...

Spamming is bad, and I hope all of you realize that. Spamming makes things hard to read, messes with clarity, and makes you seem less intelligent than we all know you are. And now, a final word from Not-So-Spammy Bob.

Thanks for all of the help! You guys helped me become much better at not spamming, and hopefully I can break this habit.

~Necro-Posting~

Necro-posting is when you post on a thread that has been dead for a long time. This happens a lot, so I feel it needs to be addressed. Once a thread is over 31 days old, you cannot post on it. If you post on the thread, the thread will be locked and you will be warned. The owner of the thread, however, can post on the thread after the 31 day period, and they can request that the thread be unlocked, but only the owner can do this.

Basically, it's a really silly reason to get warned, so don't do it <3

~Contests~

This isn't really anything that isn't already outlined in the contest Forums, but it needs to be addressed anyways.

Entering a user contest is risky. You don't know if the user is actually going to be trustworthy or shady in their dealings, but you enter it at your own risk. Yes, the person in question can and probably will get banned if they steal all of your tu, but the staff will not be able to reimburse anything that you sent to them. I've gotten burned myself from a contest in which the girl running it just suddenly disappeared from Res. It wasn't her fault, but I lost all of my money just the same.

Also, when starting a contest that people have already paid to enter, unless you have their permission (or state up front that prizes might change before they enter), DO NOT change the prizes to something of less value than the original prizes. This is shady and it's just all around wrong. They've already paid for the prizes in your pot, so don't change it on them. You can add on (or take away the add-on's you've put in the pot), but DO NOT change the original main prize, unless you are offering refunds or have permission from ALL parties who have paid to enter (this only applies if it is a contest that the contestants pay to enter. If you are holding a free contest, go nuts).

~Swear Words~

Here at Rescreatu, we want to have a safe environment for any age. Kids of all ages can get on Res, and while the first graders at your school might cuss like the Dickens, that doesn't hold true for everywhere and everyone. I'm fourteen, and I never swear. I didn't know ANY swear words until I was about twelve, and it makes me uncomfortable to hear them still. So, I believe we can agree that cursing doesn't really belong in Res.

That being said, there are only a few words you are allowed to use, and only when not pointed at a person on Res. The words (and I hate using these words, I'm ONLY saying them because I have to) hell, damn, and ass are allowed, but no other ones. This includes the shoutbox, forums, profiles, ranchers, merchants, and pet pages. Pet names with swear words are strongly strongly discouraged, though if you keep it to yourself and don't talk about it anywhere but rmail, it is fine.

Also, this includes abbreviations of swear words! If it contains a swear word in the abbreviation, don't use the abbreviation or leave the word out. You can get warned for abbreviations!!!

~Other General Pieces of Helpful Info~
(Not necessarily about rules, just helpful things)

~Pet Pricing Guide~
First off, you might want to check this fabulous little link, where you can put the info of your pet into all of the little bars, and search for it:
http://www.rescreatu.com/petsearch/
If you don't know, this is found under Information --> Creatu Search.
But before you search for your pet, make sure you set this as your default-
Locations=Rancher Shops. Under Options highlight Owner through Age. Order By=Price. Direction=Ascending. Also, to the side of this there should be a lot of options you can type in. Type a 1 in the first blank after price, and nothing else. Save=Yes
Hit enter without typing anything else. This will save that search as your default so you don't have to do all of that over again. Then go back and search for your pet. Price your pet a little bit lower than the cheapest one on the list. However, if there are no pets like your, here is a good pricing guide:

Natural Regular: About 1k or much less

Sepia Regular: 1k-20k, depending on rarity of the pet.
Cream Regular: 1k-30k, depending on rarity of the pet.
Black Regular: 25k-100k, depending on rarity of the pet.
Ginger Regular: 100k-1mil, depending on rarity of the pet.
Blonde Regular: 4mil-8mil, depending on rarity of the pet.
Calico Regular: 6mil-11mil, depending on rarity of the pet.
Albino Regular: 20mil-3omil, depending on rarity of the pet (and this one is highly debated, but this is what I think is fair. It may not be what everyone thinks is fair.)
Achromatic Regular: 30mil+ (depending on who you talk to, really good ones sell for 60mil).
