hi I'm new only been here a day if that and am wondering how to put clothes on your avatar

Welcome to rescreatu :).
To put clothes on, click on 'change avatar' under your avatar's picture. Then click 'My wardrobe' :D. Ofcourse, make sure you have clothing in your inventory/closet~
