This certainly sounds like it's from Clive Barker's "Midnight Meat Train" but I've only read the short story in the Books of Blood, haven't seen the movie, so I couldn't say. D: But am I correct?

Yes you are. The movie was Clive Barkers Book of Blood ansd i highly recomend watching it because it was great. what pet should i trade the tesuri for?
