I am currently in the 8th grade and I can't seem to find any good books at my school/town library that are interesting and that I havn't read yet. I was hoping that maybe someone might be able to recomend a good book to me. I'm into the fantasy type books with talking animals(not mandatory) and such...
So...
Feel free to give out ideas....

Well if you like books with animals, you could try The Warriors Series by Erin Hunter. Some other good ones are The Maxium Ride Series and The Hunger Games Trilogy. That's all that comes to mind as of now, I may edit this post and add more later. :)

White fang (follows the story of a dog)
Dealing with dragons (I think this is a series...its about a princess with the finger of a dragon, all her life hiding it and bearing it as a curse, but it ends up saving her life)
Animorphs (people turning into animals)
Julie of the wolves (A classic, I loved this book and it a series. An eskimo girl lost in the arctic survives by befriending a wolf pack)

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head, hope you find a book you like :)

Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke, who's the same writer as The Thief Lord and Inkheart.
Red Dragon Codex by R.D. Henham. There's other Dragon Codex books but they're all individual unrelated stories. I never got a chance to read them though.
Septimus Heap by Angie Sage. (Septimus Heap is the ti
tle of the series. I've read up to the fourth book and I'm not sure about others.)
Ranger's Apprentice by John Flanagan. Probably my favorite book series in 8th grade.
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. Probably another of my favorite series a few years ago.
Deltora Quest by Emily Rodda. An 8 book fantasy series with two other series after it called Shadowlands (I believe) - three books - and Dragons of Deltora - four books.
Guardians of Ga'Hoole by Kathryn Lasky it's up to... 14 books? I'm not sure. Haven't been paying attention to the series, but it's really good.
Ring of Five by Eoin McNamee. One of my favorite books ever. o_o It's in a series, but I've only read the first one.

I also second the recommendation for the Warriors and Hunger Games series. White Fang is a little iffy. I read it a few years ago and found it more complex and adultish, but good nevertheless. It's not one of those magical-talking-animals-goes-on-an-adventure stories though.

... I'm gonna join Ping in the books-you'll-read-in-English-class club and say Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck. P: I loved that book so much - and that says something, considering I find most books really boring. It may not be fantasy, but it's very good. I actually cried at the end lol. :U

I'm just finishing up reading the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series. There are a lot of animals, with different ways of comunication with them. (:

I like dem books you read in English class. I'm not a fan of fantasy novels. The only fantasy I'd read is Howl's Moving Castle (the movie is nothing like the book mind you). I'm not very good at reading so I only ever read novellas. Of Mice and Men is excellent xD

There are a couple books set in the same universe as howl's moving castle, which i wouldn't really call sequels because they arn't really about Sophie and Howl,.
the only one that springs to mind though is Castles in the Air.
