The 2012 Mayan prophecy is not signalling the end of the world; it's simply stating that this "cycle" of 5,000 years is ending and a new one is beginning. There is no evidence in any Mayan calender of anything catastrophic happening, and the Mayans themselves did not hold any particular importance with the December 21st date.

As for today, the "doomsday prediction" is made by a religious man who claims to have studied the Bible for 70 years and has used mathematical calculations, based on numbers in the Bible, to make today the day of Rapture; the end of the world wouldn't actually come until October 15th. He's wrong, of course. The Bible itself says no man, nor any angel or Christ himself, knows of the day of judgement; only God knows. Not to mention the fact that this terrible worldwide earthquake hasn't occurred anywhere yet (it was supposed to occur at 6pm in each time zone, moving across the earth "as the sun advances").

Not that I'm a strict religious person myself, but this Camping guy is what most religious scholars would call a "false prophet" and, according to the Bible itself, we haven't seen any signs that we've even entered the days preceding rapture and judgement.

Yes, I've been reading things online. xD

So no worries, guys.  No end of the world today, in three months, or in 2012. =]

Oh, I'm sure that come December of next year people will be panicking. But anthropologists will also probably be coming out and trying to explain what's really going on, so hopefully some will see reason. ^^ There'll always be those who panic- people recently quit their jobs, thinking the world was ending today. Bet that smarts.

Also, some food for thought- the guy that predicted the world was getting Raptured today? He said the same thing in September of 1994. And, as of right now, the shades are drawn in his house, no one is answering his door, and an "Out of Office" sign is in the window of the Christian radio station he manages. xDDD

Not gonna lie, though- it was fun, making an escape/survival plan with my friend last night. We were gonna meet on the state border. I was supposed to steal horses for us to ride. xDD

Doomsday predictions are stupid.

The idiot who predicted the May 21st isn't really a Christian......

Christians follow the Bible.

If you read the Bibile, it CLEARLY states that 'only the Father himself shall know when the end is to come.'  Something along those lines.

Anyways, it clearly states that nobody but the Lord knows when the world will end.

If he were REALLY Christian, he wouldn't be adding up this and that to conjure up some ridiculous date when he believes the world is to end and then when it passes, move the date back a few months.  XD

I bet he read that page and was like;"Ehh, whatever..... Wait, what page is this on? 8O  IF I ADD IT TO THIS PAGE I GET A DATE.  I bet that's when the world will end...... LET'S GO TELL EVERYBODY SO THEY CAN PASTE IT ON BUSSES AND I GET LOTS OF CASH! 8D"

(btw, in case you didn't know, they were actually ADVERTISING for May 21st where I live in Jersey.  Putting that crap on the sides of busses and everything. DX FAIL.)

aparantly it is goining to be 0ctober 21st of this year now and may 21st was just "Silent judgement day" or in other words by his logic we have already been judged by god and so can do what we like.

Either that or we are all now in hell as we didn't disaper which also means by his logic he is shall we say f****ed too.

Son any bets when the next one will be after 2012? 2020 prehaps? or no what about since he likes the 21st for some reason how about 21st December 2121 when even he won't be around to care about it. XD
