"Yea~ we huumunz r liek, such a cwuel rais, we liek, kil al teh wulfies."

"inorite we kil wulfz 4 fun but dey only kil us wen day in twubel."

"i waz a wolf in da past life nd i got kiled by teh humanz."

"i am against animal extinctions, save teh wulz."

Like it or not, they aren't. They are not in the Threatened section. They are in the Least Concern section.

Hear me? Least concern.

Okay, Wolfaboos, you like to *censored*ociate animal extinctions to wolves? Well you're wrong. Wolves thrive in their hundreds of thousands, millions perhaps from Eastern Europe through to Russia, and then there are loads in the USA and Canada. And when I say loads, I mean loads.

So. From this post I would like you take away this.

Instead of *censored*ociating the extinction or animals in the wild with wolves. Please take a moment for Lonesome George.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lonesome_George_-Pinta_giant_tortoise_-Santa_Cruz.jpg

He is the world's last Pinta Island Tortoise.

I think he deserves a little more attention than the wolf population, don't you? Beauty is only skin deep, guys, or in the case of a wolf, fur deep.

(Shaved wolves are ugly sauce. :c)

There is a $1o,ooo reward for the discovery of a female. Poor tortoises.

I believe that Mr.George deserves the same amount of attention that Mr.Benjamin recieved (The last thylacine.)

Long live the last Pinta Island Tortoise. <3

All animals shouldn't be killed. Not just one animal! It's not fair to any animal.

Poor George. 8C

As Tri said, every animal counts. Even if there are lots of them.

I recently did a speech about animal abuse.

Actually I went through a whole period of my life in which I was obsessed with the Tazmanian Tigers. As for Yoshi's comment, a leading expert on the Thylacine said it was a male, so most believed him. Its hard to tell whether it was male or female because even Thylacine males have backwards pouches to protect their reproduction organs whilst running through the bush.

(Off the original point)

The last recorded footage of Benjamin:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vqCCI1ZF7o

As to alice111, it is possible to clone Thylacines, but scientists are holding it for the moment. In 2ooo the Pyrean Ibex went extinct, and from an individual preserved in alcohol they where able to bring it back to life. However, said Ibex died after a short time from a lung defect, caused by the cloning or not was cla.asified. Scientists are waiting until a safer method is established.

So for the meantime, I'm just going to go to the Museum and enjoy the taxidermy. c:

Also. Also. Also. Did you know that a swan in captivity has the average life span of 102 years? Its amazing, thinking that we're only around the 8os (MEDCs).

I'm not too sure, Prianamagix, but probably alot less, maybe half the lifespan? It is estimated that feral humans lived to about 40 if they where lucky, so that's what I'm basing it on. I'd google it, but I'm too lazy. :c

YES I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! (however, not entirely)

I bet that every single one if you people who said 'no, all animals shud live. it's not just wolfs that shudunt be kiled', that is seriously not your opinion.  Inside you, you are subconsiously supporting wolves and tigers more than eny other animal. YOU ARE SECRETLY BIASED TO CERTAIN ANIMALS. If you deny it, I will still *censored*ume you are biased, you just don't want to admit it or you just don't know it. Face it, wolves and tigers are cool. You want them to live because they're cool. You even like that tortoise more 'cause it's cool. Tazmanian tigers are cool. What about the thousands of species of insects that go extinct every day? Huh? Yeah, you don't even know what they are. You don't even care about them; they don't even have a non latin name.

What I suggest you people do is only support organisations that protect HABITAT rather than a single SPECIES. Jeez, that money for species go to breeding them in captivity and research. If habitat is protected they can breed there and you can help thousands of other species. In fact, pandas breed better in their natural habitat. Why don't you just protect the habitat?! Why don't you do that? Maybe because there's a REALLY CUTE PICTURE OF A PANDA ON THEIR  'SAVE THE PANDA' AD or A REALLY COOL PICTURE OF A WOLF ON THEIR 'SAVE THE WOLVES' AD. That's why you throw your money at less productive organisations.

People only noticed when dodos and stellars sea cow dissapear. Not any of the 'less cool' species. Don't just think about larger animals like tortoises and tazmanian togers, every life is a life, no matter how small and unintersting.

Proving my point. 'I like cool/cute animals, I only want to save one species'.

I'd say humans have taken up enough space already. They've push everything else out. There's no reason for us to take more land and we should give it back. This is why we need to remove our MILE LONG shopping malls filled with NOTHING BUT CLOTHES and just give back the land. Seriously? Why on earth do we need so many clothes?

By the way, there is no point in finding another tortoise. You need at least 50 individuals in a species to support it and allow the population to grow without severe inbreeding.

I do agree with you, Ping. Thousands of insects go extinct, and very few realize. Heck, even birds go unnoticed, alongside with plants and trees. Some animals adapt very well to human activity, and others don't, which makes them vulnerable. But, people aren't going to get rid of existing shopping malls, and many of the future shopping malls will still come to be, supply and demand, you see.

The biggest reason that I do support the Pinta Island Tortoise, is not because its cool looking. I'd go as far to say its pretty ugly, but its still a creature that needs to be preserved. If I was notified of the thousands of microscopic creatures going extinct per day, month or year I would research into it. (:B) However, the internet can only carry desired information so far.

'Bout the shopping malls... They shoudn't be removing natural habitat to make shopping malls. They should use land that is already cleared that is no longer in use (aka abandoned places).

A while ago some buddhist monks bought and released cockels. That was awesome (but maybe I'm just biased 'cause I'm buddhist xD). They are a small lifeform that don't really look alive and these people had decided that the cockel was the animal they were going to save on a special day (I forgot what day it was. I think it was a religeous day). They're not endangered, but what's being endagered have to do the whether you deserve to live or not? It's good to see all lifeforms with an unbiased eye; like I've said earlier everything deserves to live: tigers, orang utans, cockels, shrimp, wolves, tortoises, daisies and mushrooms. They are all life forms, they all should live. Even 'quieter' animals like mussels, clams and coral should live.

I think George is really cute, he sorta reminds me of my grandpa. In my opinion, George is still an awesome animal 'cause he moves and people will count him as a living animal and sympathize with him.

By the way, a while ago a huge uproar was caused in the US because an American soldier threw a puppy into the ocean. Ehem, civilians get raped and killed in Iraq because some soldiers are bored... Why do people only care about cute things? xD

About the soldier thing, during war, people can hide otherwise illegal actions. This occured when the Germans invaded Russia and raped their women, and when the Russians caused the downfall of Germany and raped their women. But because they were under the cover of war, they got away with it. The Nazis also tried this technique with the Holocaust, but failed to get away scot-free. c:

Anywho, people can't cause an uproar because they are not even informed, unfortuanatly.

Also. Where I live,  there is hundreds of acres of wastelands in the MED city which I live in, a shame, really. No animals live on it, because it is all concrete. This would be the ideal place to build a store, and I really hope they think of using it soon. :D
