I know most of you probably have them (that's right, I'm pointing at you! The one eating, because we know you aren't going to give any to us >:(
I know I definitely have them.
So, lets let everyone else know, because who knows, maybe there is the most epic PS1 or Gamecube, or Computer, heck any console, unknown to those who might love it. Just put what game it is and why you love it! The only restriction is that it can't be something that everyone knows about (no pokemon, zelda, so on and so forth)
So, what's your hidden gem hiding in your game collection?
Edit: I decided that I'm going to list games suggested on here :3
- Pocket Tanks (PC)
- Shining Force 1 & 2 (Sega Megadrive)
- SSX 1, Tricky, 3 (PS2)
- Dark Chronicles (PS2)
- Jak & Daxter (The first one, PS2)
- Legend of Legaia (PS2)
- Sly 1, 2 & 3 (PS2, but there is a 3 in 1 for PS3 now.)
- Pokemon Pinball (GB & GBA)
-Threads of Fate
- Okami
- Tales of Symphonia dawn of a new world
-Rune Factory series
- Serious Sam
- No one lives for ever
- Myst
- Lost Planet
- Monster Hunter
- Fragile Dreams
- Hatoful Boyfriend
- Ace attorney
- Darwin Pond
- Heroes of might and magic
- Legend of Dragoon
- Dark Cloud
- Draken Guard
- Deadly premonition |

I've got a few, of both older and more recent games that some people don't seem to have heard of. Atleast here in Australia, don't know about other places ;
- Pocket Tanks (PC)
- Shining Force 1 & 2 (Sega Megadrive)
- SSX 1, Tricky, 3 (PS2) New one for PS3 soon !
- Dark Chronicles (PS2)
- Jak & Daxter (The first one, PS2) Can't believe noone knows about this one here.... o_o
- Legend of Legaia (PS2)
- Sly 1, 2 & 3 (PS2, but there is a 3 in 1 for PS3 now.)
- Pokemon Pinball (GB & GBA) Pokemon may be known, but their pinball game isn't xD
I'm sure I'll think of more later, but these are some I can think of now. Like I've said, noone here seems to know about most of them for some reason o_O Don't know if it's a different story here xD

Before I start off on my old favorites I played one of the SSX trickies, not sure which one though... I played through the first Jak and Daxter, never went for completion though XD I played a little of the sly games ages ago, I don't remember them to well though... Pokemon pinball was pretty fun, I had a used copy so I just kept trying to beat the high scores already on there, eventually I traded it for a different game with my friend (Pinball was fun but it was worth it >:L)
A couple of my favorites
Threads of Fate (in Japan it is called Dewprism)
I love this game, I grew up with it. Of course being made in 1999/2000 its graphics aren't exactly.....revolutionary. It is an interesting combination of RPG and platforming and two story lines to play that intertwine with each other
Okami
I think this might be the most well known unknown game XD I'm pretty sure if I don't put this here some one will. It is loosely based off of Japanese mythology and combines beautiful 2d paintbrush style art with 3d. It has a pretty good storyline, and there are a lot of people who would recommend it
Tales of symphonia (dawn of a new world I haven't played the first one)
It gets a meh in the graphics department. I thought the gameplay was pretty fun though. What seriously hooked me was the gameplay. One of my favorite game story lines. Though, people who have played the first game don't seem to like this game as much, (it gets compared to the first a lot by those who played both) regardless, I like it quite a bit. (and you can tame monsters *which is a huge bonus for me* though the system to do it is a bit of a pain its interesting). Oh, and did I mention? Multiple endings!
Rune Factory games
I have played both of the ones for the console, and the third one on the DS. If you like dungeons/monster collecting/harvest moon games I give this game a recommendation. You have multiple options to marry in the game (I never do though, BACHELOR FOREVER!) and you can tame monsters as your farm animals and bring them into the dungeons with you. Its pretty fun.

I LOVE Jak and Daxter. :O I played it all the time, but going in the water freaked me out a bit. xD Mostly because, if I remember correctly, there was this giant fish-thing that would come after you. xD ... Sadly, the disk got lost. D;
EDIT:
Oh right, I almost forgot. Have you guys ever heard of Pokemon Snap? (Pretty sure that's what it's called.) I mean, I don't have it, but I played it in a hotel once and it was fantastic. o:

I've played a little, it was pretty fun :L
I hate going in the water in pretty much any game, it freaks the heck out of me when I get attacked under water and there is potential danger from all sides XD

I actually don't think Okami, Rune Factory, and even Sly, were pretty highly known about an popular. Nintendo Power loved all over Okami for it's originality and interesting take on gameplay and Rune Factory for its interesting twist as a Harvest Moon spin off. And as for Sly, I assume you mean Sly Cooper, had commercials all over places for a while for one of their videogames. Okami and Sly are both critically acclaimed, and Okami's fanbase is huge. Rune Factory was also pretty well rated.
I never played Pokemon Snap. Never got the chance. :c I have played Hey You Pikachu on my cousin's system though. Back when N64 and Xbox were their main consoles.
One of the best video games I've ever played is Drakengard. x3 However it's pretty not well known of. I guess because maybe it's an older game (2003), people don't really care about it because there are plenty of fantasy games with better graphics. However personally I don't like all the high quality graphics now a days in most games. *stares at low quality, not even HD TV* Apparently the game was kinda screwed up though. :c A lot of stuff was Censored from the American release, so a lot of things are unclear about the characters. And they even took out such an important bit of such an important part of the plot. D:< I haven't got to that part yet, so I don't know for myself how bad it is. I would have rather it been rated Adult to save the content than Mature and botch things up. /end rant

But if you bring up rune factory or okami up in a conversation, quite a few people won't know what your talking about (at least where I live, everyone plays basketball or call of duty, its a nightmare for someone like me who plays RPGs) when one of my classmates asked what my favorite game was (and I don't really have one so I tried describing rune factory) and all they said was "creepy" >_>
darn these small minded people....

I played Pokemon Snap quite a few times back when I was a kid at daycare. It. It was pretty much one of the most fun Pokemon games. xD Even if I wasn't very good at it at the time.
Unfortunately I can't get it myself because I don't have a Nintendo 64.
Actually, y'know. Suddenly it strikes me as really, really awesome that the daycare I went to had a 64.
And I've never played Jak and Daxter myself, but a couple of the people I follow on Tumblr certainly draw and reblog it a lot. So I know a little about it that way, and I've heard of it before too.
Okay anyway. On to contributing.
SERIOUS SAM. ♥
I really, really love Serious Sam. 'S one of my favorite games ever. It basically puts plot on the back burner in favor of the simple fun of taking out hundreds upon hundreds of monsters - and heck yes is it fun.
Also the levels are gorgeous, and the soundtrack to go with them is just as great. Even the barren deserts are pretty. And.. the Second Encounter's downright silly level design aldjfjla. How can flailing around in a bouncy-floored room with dozens of screaming headless guys after you not be great.
I just. Yah I'm a little too obsessed with this game.
Sadly, with the exception of my family, I'm pretty sure no one I know has ever heard of it. >:o
Ahm. Lessee.
I guess there's No One Lives Forever.
I.. don't remember all that much about this one though. I really wanted to replay it at one point, but at the time my computer had Vista and couldn't really do games, especially old ones. So really, all I have to say is that at least in memory, it was a pretty funny game. It never hesitated in being over-the-top.
It can be pretty serious too though. In the second one there's a really heartbreaking boss at one point. All throughout the fight he just keeps calling for his daughter. But she's already long dead. 8c
I suppose.. kind of Myst. Maybe. xD I always see on Wikipedia and stuff that it's really popular and lauded as a fantastic series, but do I ever actually see any sort of fandom going on? lol nope. I guess most fans of it just stay silent nowadays.
But yah basically, puzzle-solving games involving magic books that link to other worlds. Unfortunately, with the exception of Myst III, I remember very, very little about these. I was probably just a baby when my dad played the first two. o: So yah. I really don't remember a thing about the original Myst, and only a few moments of walking across a short bridge come to memory when I think of Riven..
I mean. I'd totally play them myself now, but they're so darn old that newer operating systems just can't handle them. So unless I wanna try to buy the slightly more recent realMyst and hope to gosh that it works, I.. I really can't. :c
I can say at least, though, that Myst III was very fun and for sure works on newer computers. I've played it through multiple times. Amateria = friggin' best world.
...
lol absurdly long post. 8Y

I've played Pokemon Snap :3 Played it as friends place on the old Nintendo 64 years ago. Good times <3
Myst o_o We had those on our Mac, I always seemed to get stuck. Not heard that name in so long.
Lost Planet I see it a fair bit, just never hear of people playing it. I've played demos of it on the PS3, and I like it :>
I have another one to add to the list ;
- Heroes of Might and Magic (First to whatever version they're on now) It's a PC game, so fun <3

Fragile Dreams is excellent. It's not very good in terms of gameplay (the game play is kind of basic, but not horribly bad). But the storyline is well worth it. It's quite different compared to other games and the art is fantastic. I finished it in like 3 days, but it's still worth it. The music's excellent as well ;D
Also, 'Hatoful Boyfriend' is a game you MUST play. It's an otome (Japanese dating game) about pigeons (where you a female human in a post apocolyptic world where humans are near extinct and pigeons take over). It's so bad it's good. It's a dating game that has so many endings that involve you dying. There's a free English demo and I suggest you get it. It can keep you busy for a while and will leave you cracking up.
I also found Darwin Pond quite amusing. It's not really a game but a life simulation where you do an experiment involving genetics. It kept me busy every afternoon for about a month. It's entertaining. There's a sequel that's better, but I forgot what it's called.
I also think the Ace Attorney series is a bit underrated. It's quite famous, but a lot of people find it offputting that you have to play as a lawyer. It's really really fun and the storyline is interesting. Also, if you're a fan of the Professor Layton series, play it.
I haven't played many series that people have mentioned. Only the most popular ones (like Rune Factory (played all the games) and Okami). I haven't played Serious Sam or Sly (just not too into those, I am one who grew up with Japanese games.). It's weird that most people like either mostly Japanese games or mostly American games (I mean that most of the games people tend to like are either Japanese or American). I do play American games, but I don't find them as absorbing for some reason. The only American game I grew up with is Spyro, but that got kind of crappy since they moved to the PS2.
Oh yeah, I suggest that if you really really want to enjoy Okami more, you should do the background reading. I grew up hearing most of the stories mentioned in Okami and knew all the tales and mythology (the only one I didn't know was the Hakkenden). Read up and play again, you can see the parallels ;D
