Some one help me. My leopard gecko can barely move and won't eat or drink. His eyes are only slightly open and he doesn't look like he has the energy to fully open them. My friend dropped him recently and ever since then he's had a bum leg, and after his leg got hurt that's when he started acting strange. I keep him in a ten gallon long with Reptile Carpet, a heat mat, a hide on the heated hide, a moist hide on the cool side, a little plant next to the moist hide, and a little cap filled with dechlorinated water. He's currently shedding, but isn't really trying to get it off. I put worms in there but he ignores them. Please hurry, I love him so. </3

You really need to let a professional look at him instead of asking us. Sorry if that sounds rude, but we can't help nearly as much as a professional, and if someone here were to lie to you or to tell you something wrong, your gecko could very easily die. Please take him to a vet or professional that can help him.

I ask you guys because we don't have a reptile vet in the tiny place I live in. Edit: I'll try the local animal expert but...

I don't know much about reptiles, but I've had several frogs. If your vet/animals expert isn't sure what to do, then the best suggestion I can give you is try not to stress him out by touching him and stuff, otherwise he could panic and basically die of fright. Just keep him where people aren't breathing on him and stuff, sometimes quiet and rest can work miracles.

I thought my gerbil was going to die, but we just let her be and she recovered, living at least a year more. I realize a gerbil is a small rodent, but all animals need sleep, and that can save their life.

Thanks. That helps a lot, Guiven. I called the animal expert, and he said he's not huge on reptiles but his friend is. Calling his friend tomorrow...Cookie seems to be better. He's moving a bit and I think he ate two worms or so. The only thing I'm really concerned about are his eyes. They aren't bright...my mom said if he passes she'll get me a new leo or a crested gecko, but I don't think any thing could replace my baby.

Okay, I hope your gecko gets to feeling better!

I remember when my first frog passed, I cried non-stop for a whole day, I just started bursting into tears randomly, anywhere in the house. I missed my frog so much, then a year or two later another frog found its way into my basement, and I ended up keeping him for a year, but then he died from sickness. Sickness does horrible things to animals, but it's always wonderfull when they pull through.

Guiven: </3 Sorry for your loss. I had a fire belly toad, named Sammy, and when she died...my heart was torn in two.

I still miss her, and that was a few years ago. The one bad thing about loving and owning animals, is that the friends you make among them, never live as long as yourself.

Yeah, and elephants live to be 75 years. I don't think those would make good pets though...anyway, how's your gecko?

*Sighs* Sadly, Iv'e been looking up good pet reptiles. My gecko hasn't touched a worm in about a week. Most of his shed still remains, and my mom won't take him to the vet. My Cookie is crumbling, ad it's breaking my heart. </3 (My gecko's name is Cookie)

I have two snakes, but I've never had any geckos before. However your gecko might have a broken leg - is it swollen at all? Usually if a reptile is dropped accidentally it should be fine but the shedding problem makes me think of possible parasites or an infections. I'm not sure but I think you should REALLY take it to the vet, at least to check on it. Beg your mom! Your gecko is suffering

We found out he has MBD, so yes. He was two broken legs and STILL hasn't completed his shed. We got him a lamp which is suppose to give him UVB rays. He still doesn't look good...I got him to eat two Waxworms, which is a good sign. He still won't touch mealworms.

Oh no! I was praying he would get better! Oh, I do hope Cookie gets to feeling better, as long as he's eating and drinking, and now that you've got him a lamp, maybe he'll pull through. :/

I don't care who's pet an animal is, I love them all, their lives are just as important to them as ours are to us.

Kat, if you don't like it, then don't read it. Simple as that.

And Sona, I'm so sorry D: I know how it feels when a pet dies. Some people may think, "Yeah, it's just a gecko". But they don't know how heartbreaking it is 'til they experience it. My chicken, Zelda, died randomly one night ;n; And no body cared (at school, of course).
I'll pray that Cookie get's better. Sometimes praying works c':
