Yep.. but the only problems are;

  • Im afraid to tell my mother that I want a dog; she may start yelling. Plus, my grandmother is up for an operation next week.
  • My mother fears my siblings would get hurt from a bite, and the fur has viruses, blah. And it falling into my pond.
  • SPCA may reject. I'd cry o_o

AND SO ON.

Let me let you know about my family first? <3

My sisters, aged 20, 5,6 and a younger brother, aged 2. I live with them, my parents, and my grandmother, and a maid.

Now, I need to find a dog that fits these requirements:

  • Fur: Short (Singapore is a warm country)
  • Size: Small- Medium
  • Excercise Needed: Not too much/ medium
  • Feeding: Uh, o_o normal.
  • Grooming: Easy. Remember Short Fur thing? o_o
  • Color and breed do not really matter.

Ahyes. I may either adopt from ;

www.asdsingapore.com  <= Private shelter; you has to call. Bleh.

OR

www.spca.org.sg <= Visited many times.

But I also need to convince my mum that I can care for a dog. My reasons so far:

  1. Dogs lower blood pressure. [Neh, thats for mum. xD ]
  2. SPCA would put unadopted animals to sleep after a few months.
  3. It would train the children's hygiene, affection to animals and blah.
  4. It would make me stay away from my computer instead of stressing like , many hours a day and making my spectacle degree rise.
  5. It would make me more active and less-lazy . LOL
  6. It would train my responsibility.
  7. I can be happier o_o
  8. I can save a life.

I dont think this would work, though. My sisters may be shy around strangers outside and not go into the playing area, not because they are afraid of the dogs. My parents. :/

But really, can I watch them die?

For the breed, I think Chihuahuas would be okay, but homg, they are so tiny. o_o

I own my Dog Grooming Salon and I'm a graduate Technician (animal health) .. So I know a lot about dogs!!! ^_^

I do not recommend Chihuahua's at all, especially since you have very young sibblings. Either the dog, due to his tiny size, or the younger children would get hurt, since the Chihuahua is very short tempered!!

Here are the breeds I would recommend:

-Beagle (although may be very stubborn in training)

-Boston Terrier

-Pug

-Dachshund

-Miniature Pinsher (although extremely energetic)

I hope I could help!! And Good Luck with your parents!

I adopted a dog from a shelter, and she is the best, sweetest dog you'll ever meet. She would actually fit your requirements perfectly.

I got a short-haired border collie mix. She is so sweet, and she only bites if you tease her for a long ammount of time.

She is medium size, and she does have short hair. The problem is she sheds a lot, so be prepaired to vaccum atleast once a week.

When ever my brother brings his two-year-old over, she is as sweet as can be, always playing and such.

So, I recomend a border collie OR beagle mix from a shelter; they will be your best frienddd.

OH! And, as for training, you have to be very persistant at first, and you have to let her know who's boss so she doesn't try to challenge you. Now, she's perfectly fine at listening right away.

And for your amusment, here's a picture;

Flare: ... is that a sock? <3

Well, I have about four to six hours to prepare to tell my parents, when my father returns from Malaysia tonight. I may prepare a few interesting things like how awesome dogs are in the sense that they'll stay beside you forever. I mean like, they are loyal o_o Not forever, but bah.

 And thank you for your help, guys :D

I wouldn't suggest a Chihuahua. D; They had a habit of chosing one person, and sticking to them. If someone goes near that person, the dog may bite and growl. D;

Mabye a lab/german shephard? A mix would be even better. :P

Most of the dogs listed above are great choices. I'd also say maybe a Jack Russell Terrier, although if not trained properly they could become way too hyper. But other than that, they're a small, lovable, fun breed. My mom's friend owns a Jack Russell, and she has two little kids (One aged 7 and one 3) and they both adore the puppy.

We fell through the ice when we tried not to slip.
