So, today, I sent an email to my favorite author, Nancy Haddock, who writes the La Vida Vampire series. She is an amazing author and I just received a reply to the email I sent her.
Hi Kat!
Wow, thank you so much for taking your time to write me! I'm delighted that you enjoying La Vida Vampire and Last Vampire Standing. And what an honor that Always The Vampire will be a Sweet 16 gift to yourself! HAPPY early BIRTHDAY, and I hope you'll enjoy the third book!
BTW, right now Cesca's stories end with Always The Vampire. I don't know if I'll be contracted for more. If not, and if I can get my rights to the characters back, then I may write more Cesca stories for direct release as e-books. Meantime, a tiny plug. I have a short story coming out in an e-book anthology in Sept. The story features new characters but is also set in St. Augustine. The best part is that all the proceeds go to breast cancer research. I don't know if you have an e-reader, or if you'd even be interested, but I had to share. <g>
Now to YOUR cool news! It's awesome that you're writing, whether it's poetry or short stories or novels. Poetry writing requires such vivid imagery! I love reading and learning, and applying poetry images to prose. I hope Kara and Dimitri keep speaking to you (loud and clear!), and keeping that paper and pen handy is the true mark of a writer! By starting now, who knows how fabulous a writer you'll be by the time you're in college ... and beyond! Know I'm cheering for you, okay?
Again, thank you so much for writing to me, Kat! You've made my entire week, and I wish you happy writing as well as a most HAPPY SWEET 16!!!
Light,
Nancy
I will frequently update this thread with new things. And yes. This is REALLY from the author.
