Mychell: People lived fine without the internet before it existed...kind of like how people lived (fine or not) without modern medicine. We have based so much business on it now that if it suddenly disappears there will be big trouble. It's kind of like a person growing a third leg and then learning to use it and many years later the leg gets cut off...the person loses their balance and falls.

As far as Obama goes I don't like him either...or especially his wife who carries herself like royalty. America is no land for kings and queens. But as far as the reasons for turning off the internet there would have to be a major emergency (whatever that may be) So I don't see how he can just shut it off to control us.

All I have to say is yes people were able to get by without the internet before but on regards of the whole world being connected by the internet I also agree there. I mean if the net is turned off here in the US wouldn't that mean that ALL websites that who's main server is here in the US would go down? I'm not very computer savvy when it comes to the maintenance and upkeep of servers and whatnot but in my mind if the net was completely shut off in the US I would think that all the servers that are here would go down for the time as well. So wouldn't that effect all the rest of the world as well?
 
Take Res for example. Res time is the same time as where I am so I always figured that Patrick was somewhere here in Central Time in the US. So, wouldn't Res go down in the shutting off of US internet? All in all I'm just going to stay neutral in the whole thing and stick all my important pets in my showroom and just go on with life as normal. If they shut off the net they shut it off and I'll just go read a book or something until they decide to bring it back up. I mean yeah it's going to suck and I may have a few withdraws or whatever (lol jk jk) and all of us Americans will just have to deal and try and make all the chaos go back to normal when they bring the net back up. Oh and hope that there aren't too many threats made on the members of the government.
 
Sorry if I confused anyone. I confused myself as I was typing this up. But as I say again I'm just all eh whatever at this point. I've never really been one to be that into politics and I don't think that I am going to start now.

Flame me, agree with me, do whatever this is just my opinion so if you don't like it just forget I ever said anything in the first place. I'm not meaning any rudeness by what I have said just being blunt and to the point because it is to hot and I am to tired to sugar-coat anything right now.

I think Eeno explained it a bit better than me. 

As for the kill switch, Auryon, I think its more like a block then an actual shut down. Kinda like parental controls that would block the entire country from accessing the internet. Nothing goes out and nothing comes in. So websites run in the US wouldn't shut down and non-US users would still be able to access it.

Does that make more sense, lol?
