OMG!!! Check out the latest update on Maty's blog: "Good morning everyone! I am very happy to report that I slept great last night, but more importantly, so did my mom. You know mothers; they worry too much and don't get enough sleep and then get a little cranky. But last night my dad spent the night with me and my mom got to go home and actually get a comfy night's sleep. Hooray! I am also very happy to say that this is not the only thing we are "hooray-ing" about today. As a few know, yesterday they did what's called a bone marrow aspiration, which is where they look at some of my bone marrow and see the number of leukemia "blasts" inside of it. The blasts are like cells. Anyway, when I first came here the number of blasts was more than 90%. The goal of the chemo is to destroy these blasts. This morning, the number of blasts was less than 0.3%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's really good! Okay, so just thought I'd share the news. Other than this I am doing great. Thanks again for the constant care, love and support you're giving me. I swear you're the reason the blast count is so low! The prayers are being answered! Thanks and lots of love!!!!" That's right all of these prayers have been helping!! Maty may be back at school soon! YAY!!! Thank you so much everybody, I can't thank you guys enough! *hugs everybody who prayed for Maty*

This Kid at our school, Chauncy, he also needed a bone marrow Transplant for Lukemia, He was a new kid, but everyone loved him, he was the nicest person you would probably ever meet. This was last year, In the 6th grade. We all loved him, and one of his favorite things (oddly) was Erkle, this Nerd from a TV show. In honor of him, we planned a surprise nerd day, where The whole school, including the teachers, dressed up as nerds the day before he went to the hospital. It was probably the best day of my life, seeing him look so happy, and I doubt I'll ever forget the look on his face. He was so surprised to see the school full of nerds when he walked in, and, i think everyone was. He left the next day, and he came back to visit a few weeks after his surgery, since the hospital was full of people with the flu, he couldnt stay there anymore, because the surgery had lowered his immune system. We really dont know what happened to him after that, but he just came back to school about 4 or 5 months ago, and he was on crutch-things, but he seemed to be the same kid we knew before he left. He's doing great now, and if you didnt know him, you would've never thought he had cancer before. I just thought I'd share this story with all of you, hopefuly it made your day a little brighter :) Our school does a penny drive each year, with a reward to the homeroom who brings in the most money, our schools total amount this year: Over 5,000 dollars. All to cancer research and finding a cure, every last penny. Please help to make a difference!! I'll keep your friend and her family in my prayers, and I hope her story has a happy ending, like Chauncey's.

I remember one time, since both me and my sister were in an orchestra, our float for this parade-thingy had an Alice in Wonderland theme. Kitteness went dressed as the Cheshire Cat, and I went as the Gryphon. T'was awesome.
