So... I went through this same dilemma and stole one of my sister's CDs and found some new bands and songs I really like!
Plumb is a good, softer kind of band. From what I have heard so far, at least. The ones I like a lot by them are: Bittersweet, Always, In My Arms [Probably my favorite by them so far], Manic, and Better.
Within Temptation is now one of my favorites, I love their style. Their kinda like Plumb. Somewhere [my absolute favorite song at the moment], Bittersweet, Hand of Sorrow, and Pale are the only ones I have so far listened to.
Evanescence/Amy Lee has been on I have liked for a while. She sings Sally's Song from the Nightmare Before Christmas, and also there are My Immortal, Tourniquet Hello, Lithium, My Last Breath, Wake me Up [also called Bring me to Life, I've seen it written both ways so I don't know which to call it], and there are more I can't think of right now.
Through Glass by Stone Sour is one of my favorites as well, though that's the only song I know by them.
Linkin Park is also a long-time favorite of mine. They are more rock than the others mentioned, besides maybe Stone Sour. Breaking the Habit, In the End, Crawling, Numb, What I've Done, Shadow of the Day [this is softer than some of their others], My December [also softer than the others], Leave out all the Rest, New Divide [if you've seen Transformers I am pretty sure this was used in there], and there are a few more I can't think of. Though a few of their songs can be more rappy, their the only ones I like that rap even a little bit. Some of it can get a little screamo, but I usually don't like them unless the rest of the song is one I find really good. I think Numb and Crawling are two examples of their more screamo songs, and I don't really listen to those two as much as the others by them. In the End has a lot of rap in it, I just LOVE the Bridge to that song <3

CH, my MP3 has like 500 songs on it so I have TONS of songs to toss at you... You mentioned something about Disney, so have you heard any of the songs by Ross Lynch (as of right now I am addicted to 'The Way That You Do' and Illusion' by him) and also some songs played on 'Shake It Up'?
uhmm....let's see....
You mentioned you like Country so.... Right Between Your Eyes - Hot Buttered Rum (as far as I know you can only find the LIVE versions online, but I haven't checked Amazon or Itunes yet so I dont know)
Make A Move - Switchfoot Thunder - Boys Like Girls (Radio Version)
uhm I could send you an RMail with the ENTIRE list of songs i have on my MP3 if you want X3

[[ Someone offered Disney and I told them I'd give it a shot. :)
I've heard of Shake it up but don't really listen to them much.The only disney I listen too is Demi Lovato - who technically isn't on Disney anymore. |D
But I can look up Ross Lynch. Thank you! :D
I'll look those other ones up as well. A whole rmail of a list would be great but I'll feel over whelmed seeing as you said there are so many so I'll stick with these for now. HAHA. :D ]]

Okay then....Do you want a list of some songs from Shake It Up or some songs of Ross Lynch's? Also if you haven't heard it already I HIGHLY recommend 'Rain' by Breaking Benjamin.

Oh CH~
Here I am, here to recommend music for you. Get ready to be bombarded with some hardcore rap. >:) Joking. And because I am a loser and have no life, I linked all the songs :D
~~~ (Really, any songs by the Fray, but I'm feeling lazy)
Switchfoot (I love them) - - You (This song gets me every single time T-T)
Just the whole Switchfoot album in general. Because I will totally just list every single song XD My favourite album is Hello Hurricane. (Check out Always, And apparently they are a christian band, I personally don't see it that way but, whatever floats your boat.
Lana Del Rey - I could really just go on forever about this woman. I love her, just any of her songs are good.
- Everything (Which despite what people say, He wrote this song for his wife XP So romantic T-T But then whatever floats your boat)
Andrew Belle (I love this man) Just in general, I love this man. Any song by him.
Its been a while but im back~ If youre an old RP buddy hit me up Id love to reconnect.
