Why do the God, or Gods, whichever you beleive, put us through the thing that is love, and let our emotions flourish, only to take away the things we care about the most at the worst times? Are we simply pawns to be played with at the pleasure of Higher beings? And why, if the God/s are the cause of this, do we not rebel against their religion?

According to the Jehovah's Witnesses, the world is in the hands of Satan. Jehovah(God) wants us to see that this world, our world, ruled by Satan is bad. Jehovah wants us to know that He is the only one that can truly make us happy.

You make it sound like a celestial being wouldn't have transcended earthly emotions.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 The Lord does not play with our emotions. He gave them to us that we may go through our lives joyfully and in such a way that we may love him. Without emotion we could not love HIm and worship Him. Though we may lose those that we love, we should not look upon their loss as sad. If they leave you physically, more likely than not, they were never intended to be with you, or at least not in the time they are gone. If they die, we should not look upon their death as a sad thing, but joyfully, for they have been liberated from this world and it's pains. They now reside safely in the arms of the Father. He does not happily watch our pain, but, in some cases, pain is exactly what we need. This is my opinion, and I am not forcing it upon anyone. You may believe what you want, but this is how I stand. The Lord is with us, no matter how alone we feel.

As much as I want to put my opinion here, I'd rather not. :x I don't want to stirr up anything.

I dunno, but isn't talk about religion against the rules? I mean the rule's there for a reason. I wouldn't want to get too into this, it's might stir up some arguement.

"The discussion of sexuality, politics and religion is allowed but any inflammatory, agressive or degrading comments about any of these is not accepted." Go ahead, stir things up. A debate isn't fun if there aren't opposing opinions.

It's impossible to logically debate religion, though, if I may put in. Because to debate you need hard, cold evidence. Proven facts. And religion is short of evidence. Behold, the agnostic. c: *prods self*

I looked at the rules, they said it was ok to discuss religion as long as there's nothing aggressive or you aren't forcing your opinions on anyone. If anyone finds my post offending, please let me know, I will remove it. I don't want to make anyone mad...

Yar har, but that's what debate are about. They're just sophisticated fist fights. I wouldn't want to touch this territory if I were you guys. But go ahead, I'd be cautious if I were you, play safe!

Religious and philosophical matters are, by their nature, very personal, so obviously religious discussions will tend to get p*censored*ionate. I don't get why everyone makes this out to be a big deal, though. So what if someone challenges your beliefs? Defend them, and if you can't, reconsider or back out of the discussion. If things get heated, then that makes it all the more interesting.

I've been pushed toward Christianity, however. Yes, on this site.

As in a hostile way? Why would anyone do that?

Oh golly gosh! An unnamed user has suggested in the past that Murgy change her religious views! I guess we can't discuss religion now.

Flammable, I'm tired of you being so rude. I'm not saying that. Go ahead, discuss it. I really don't mind. If I even so much as touch this thread again, sue me.

Obligatory pot calling kettle black, etc. The only reason I can think of for you to post that would be to hinder the discussion. Thanks for giving me your permission, though. Now that I've gotten your okay, I guess this topic can finally take off.
