scales sound neat - I'm thinking of adding claws and teeth too - and ram horns probably go under the "horns" feature. I'll try to add. Thanks fo the suggestions :)
I'm also thinking of something tranparent or robotic

That is dark purple too. It's front right foot has a sock on it, with dark purple blobs coming up its leg, smaller and smaller.
