The human race has made contact with its first inhabitable planet other than Earth. Terra they call it, a planet very similar to Earth in the Quix solar system. It is full of foliage and large bodies of water. They only have a small window of time to be on the planet before they must leave to explore for others. So, the astronauts take a species and are on their way. On the way to the next solar system, they name the new species Bailum. To show this new species to Earth, they were allowed to take a teleporter. They beam down all of the aliens they could catch and Earth's leaders decide they are harmless enough and are allowed to be given to the human population.
