So I'm terrible at pricing things,
Probably why people never buy from me

So take a look around my gallery here:
And beware, there are occasionally doodles, sketches or bad quality things.

Some things that I really want to be given a rough price are:

1:

2:

3:

4:

Hey, so I noticed you've been bumping this quite a lot, trying to get opinions on what your price should be?
The thing is, looking at your other art thread, the pricing looks pretty fair, probably even a little cheap considering the economy of res these days.
I think if you're already offering ok prices, and aren't seeming to be getting comissions, you could try offering different styles of art. Lined art is usually very popular for people around your skill level, and even though your lineless art looks good, that style in general doesn't tend to get much popularity until artists hit the point where they're at least doing semi-realistic or realistic work
Also consider more diverse subjects in your example pictures. Right now they all seem to be somewhat reptillian. If you've done creatu pics, throw those in too because they tend to be popular on these art forums in general.

Thanks for your opinion!
Generally why I don't do lined is because I'm gradually trying to get to realism level,
Also I can do creatu, I just love dragons a lot and love drawing them XD

But I need your opinion,

Would you count this image (my most recent picture) realism?

To be honest, I think you're approaching fantasy style with that piece, tle="" href="http://ruth-tay.deviantart.com/art/Hydreigon-339520554">here is an example of an artist who also does fantasy style, for reference

Meanwhile, tle="" href="http://www.deviantart.com/art/fly-study-529970193">here is an example of an artwork done in realism style

The two are easy to tell apart if you know what you're looking for. I think a lot of people seem to confuse detailed works, that have had a lot of effort put in, as realistic ones. Realism can actually come from works with very little detail. Non-realistic works can have lots of detail, on the other hand.

Fantasy style works are also pretty popular, but again, the people who get popular in that style are usually ones who have also happened to get a lot of training in the same skills that realism artists use.
They also do use lines a lot in their art studies. Believe it or not, a lot of hyper-realistic pieces will often start out with the lines, and they would be incorporated in the piece as it goes. So there's no need to feel like using lines is somehow at ends with realism, it's how a lot of artists come to understand shapes.

Ah, fantasy is a genre, not a style. e v e;;;  Yes sweety, that does count towards realism.  It's any medium that styles itself to proportions, anatomy, etc that mimics and creates the illusion of real life.
On res Ive found that cute styles tend to do really well.  I would suggest trying something more of the distorted, cutesy style to add to your arsenal.  Quick sketches with nice flats with a smidgen of shading would be well priced to move likely, depending on how long they take to do.  I've found that when I sell cute things they go over really well.

I don't know what you used to price, but I'd be happy to sit down with you over Rmail and talk some more about this?

I've sold about 115 commissions here on res over my time here plus some auctions and adoptables, I've got a fairly good idea of what people order, as does my best friend, and some of my other nerds on here.  I'd be happy to share what we've gathered<3

EDIT

AH I just saw the thread I thought it was an adopt thread.  That might be a problem right there as well.  The ti
tle needs to tell people it's a commission thread of some sort.  That's a good way to get people in.  Also advertising on the SB.  It can take a few weeks but once you pull in one person, it's easier after that cause they tend to show your art off to people ;D

Still, if you want, I can give you some advice on setting up the shop to best showcase yourself?  Your stuff is super cute, so I think you just need to work on presentation and you're set<3

Fantasy art is a genre and a style. Also, not every medium that styles itself after real life, is realism style. A lot of anime/cartoon/fantasy artists will study from real life. For example, tle="" href="http://myfantasyart.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/tower-chronicles-comic-cover-art-images-c.jpg">if you take a look at this comic book cover, you can see it bases the art very closely on the anatomy of a real life human, but the style is still one in the comic book genre.

That's not to say that you're wrong. You're right, realism is any medium that styles itself in a way that mimics and creates the illusion of real life. The thing is, that's based on the art itself, and I would say that it wouldn't be at the point where I'd confuse your artwork for a photograph for example. It does, however, resemble fantasy illustrations like the kind you would see on book covers, and those happen to be part of one of my favourite styles. The point being, choosing to study and copy from real life, and how you incorporate it into your artwork are two very different things.

I thought fantasy was a genre too whoops :'o
I think it's aiming towards realism enough without being too 'judgy' so to speak :'D As I said I thought it was real at first glance LOL so tbh if she's achieving that, then :u
Either that or I just watch too much HTTYD :')
I do however agree with the fact that chibi/cute lineart type things are what gets the most attention here on res :'O Not to say your art isn't adorable because it isss *u* It's a unique style not many people bring to Res, which is why (I think) it's not as popular </3 :c Which is a shame tbh

I feel like I'm being really annoying now...
But I think I've improved on my drawing style a bit and it needs a price again 😅
(Oh gosh I hate not being able to know the value of my own art)
But here are some of my even newer things (I've got lots more but I'm too lazy to put them all here)

But of course I'm still really only doing dragons 😅
However I am working on a creatu artwork though

I think I'll update the first post now too

For something coloured with a background, I'd do a good 20 mil +. c:

Just coming from no where, I'd be willing to pay 20 Mil+ for your art, too. I love the background and detail work on it ^^

I especially love the Torterra xD
