I make monochrome artwork and I need practice. So I'm hoping for a few commissions to give me something to do.
I haven't done too many of these, and some turn out better than others. It really depends on the reference picture.
Loki Portrait, 6 hours
Sherlock Portrait, 3.5 hours
Data Portrait, 5.5 hours
These take a lot of time on my part and sometimes don't turn out the way I intended, and other times they surprise me (the portrait of Loki shocked me. It took very little time to complete considering the detail required and came out really well).
The process is fairly simple, as long as you provide the information I need, I can get your commission done quickly.
The Process:
First I find a picture that will be easy to use. If you want a specific picture for your commission, there are certain specifications that make the process easy for me. I'd recommend you find the picture, it makes me feel much more comfortable and eliminates any possible disagreement you might have with the portrait. If you leave this to me, I cannot guarantee that it will be exactly what you wanted, as I'll choose an image I can easily replicate that focuses on shadows and light. However, if you trust my judgment and leave that decision to me, I will do my best to surprise you.
If you choose the picture here are a few things that make it so much easier to complete:
1: My portraits focus on darks and lights, find a picture that's dark and has a lot of shadows
2: It's much easier for me to conquer something that's just a face, things like clothing slow me down because I have to replicate the pattern and everything.
DO
Find a fairly dramatic picture that focuses on the character.
Choose a picture with a lot of shadows and contrast
DON'T
Find a washed out picture
I can't use pictures like this because I don't have enough contrast to define lights and darks.
Find a chaotic/highly detailed picture
AND PLEASE, DO NOT FIND A COPYRIGHTED PICTURE. IF IT HAS A WATERMARK OR A SIGNATURE, I CANNOT USE IT.
Typically, these portraits have a very limited selection of colors. I prefer doing solid colored backgrounds and use a color that contrasts the character or picture's initial color scheme, however if you'd rather me keep the original background I'd be glad to do so.

ANY SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS?:
QUESTIONS?
(I don't do animals, only humans. Sorry!)
The only reason I have to sell these is because I need serious requests and motivation to finish them.
I price these based on the complexity of the request. Color and background don't factor into the pricing as much as the detail or work required to replicate the original image.
(Examples: My portrait of Loki was Black/White, Solid Color, the Sherlock portrait had Faded Color and a Faded background, and the portrait of Data was Full color with the original background.
For the detail involved in the Loki portrait, I'd price it at around 8,000,000. This may seem extremely expensive, but the portrait took 6 hours. I'd sell something like the Sherlock portrait for 1-3,000,000, and the Data portrait, 6,000,000)
So yeah, fire away.
(If you have ideas for things I could draw but aren't interested in buying a piece or can't afford it, leave them on this post or in my rmail. If I don't have enough to do, I might finish a suggestion or two)
