Rika looked between the page and her barebat, looking pretty amazed before she looked at the page. She decided to take the risk and focused onto the page, leaning back as her free arm wrapped around her precious bat. She rested her head atop Kio's, tilting his head a little bit as she she looked over the ripped page. Did the runes in the book and Kio's runes have something in common?

Cloaked reaches out to stop his Barebat, but is too late. Shocked as his Barebat hits a tree, he sits still with his mouth hanging open. Shaking his head, he gets up and runs over to see if his Barebat is ok. Checking him for injuries Cloaked sees the weird ob
ject in his teeth. He glances at the gold on the ground. He shakes his head leaving the gold on the ground and going for the stuff in his Barebat's mouth. "Let's just open our mouth." Cloaked says as he tries to grab it.

A bit confused, but eager, you oblige and stand just below The Great Tree with your hands cupped and held out towards the branches. The seeds in your palms start to crack, and a sweet, amazing smell erupts from them...the scent is carried behind the tree and into the forest. You notice rustling in the bushes, then a quick reddish blur runs towards you, then up the tree. Suddenly a creature flips downward, appearing to be hanging onto a limb from its long thick tail. Its nose pushes to yours and it grins and giggles and chitters softly, then nibbles at the seeds in your hand. A fruit-fawn creature of The Great Tree has appeared to you and taken your offering. The creature itself smells of sweet, potent berries. It's highly saturated coat is soft to the touch, but its tail feels like a thick and heavy vine. The berries on the end of its tail appear to be edible, or maybe they just taste sweet, because it sometimes picks up its tail and nibbles and licks upon them, though never actually plucks them or breaks the 'skin'. This creature appears to be very giddy and happily accepts you, and even curiously goes up to your BareBat, Festus, though keeps its distance in fear of the flames that surround him.

As you are distracted by the tantalizing smell, you hear a loud yip in the background. A small orange fluff appears to be running from the fields in the distance...as it draws closer you can make out a dog-like creature running at you. It yips, then leaps into the air, bounding with amazing speed before skidding to a stop in front of you, then circling your legs, sniffing at you. You reach down instinctively and show this adorable creature your seed. It munches on it daintily and licks its lips with a satisfied yip.  A
fruit-fawn creature of The Great Tree has appeared to you and taken
your offering. The creature smells like honey and citrus, and appears to have a resemblance to an Orange Blossom. It has a bright leaf mark above its nose and a beautiful flower as a tail. Its ears are incredibly soft and fluffy and smell wonderful like an orange. This creature appears to be very playful, dependable, and adaptable. It appears very interested in your BareBat, but whimpers if it looks towards it.

Rika- I'm uncertain if you are trying to interact with your page. If you are, try to do something more specific or explain what you are doing. Maybe I'm just tired and don't really get it lol.

Slight Change of Plans
Hey guys. I just woke up to a pretty horrific text from my folks. Apparently my little sister was shot IN the eye last night while having an airsoft gun war with some friends of hers and her boyfriend. I have no idea who did it, how it happened, etc etc but I'm about to leave to go see her if she is still in the ER or at home. Apparently they can't get her in to see a specialist until Monday which is ungodly. I don't know if it pierced her actual eyeball, but that's freaking ridiculous to wait if it did.
I'm worried sick about her and I'm leaving to go see her. I will not have my computer so I will not be able to update anything. Holidays, I have received your TU and your creature WILL be posted asap. I ask that no one make any actions, while I'm away, please. If you must, or forget, it's okay, but try to tone them down a bit. I may not even be back tonight depending on the severity of the situation. We're unsure if she will lose her eye or not...I'm terrified for my sister, so right now my main focus is her.
I'm sorry for the delay, everyone. My schedule always seems to get screwed up by strange happenings and busy work, but I simply ask that you remain patient and understanding. You've all be wonderful so far.
Again, Frank, you MAY pick a bat. Your TU has not gone to waste or been forgotten. Just pick one or remind me of one you picked earlier and it will be posted soon as well.

Ouch! Seriously, a huge big ouch! How did she even manage that? ( don't answer this cuz I know ya don't know) hope she gets better soon.
( once in year three my friend and a boy were arguing about something that wasn't her fault? And ended up throwing a sharp pencil at her but I was in the row behind her so she dodged it but I Didn't see it coming so ended up hitting me in the eye, sharp side, but luckily I blinked just as it happened so yeah nothin happened)
Right yeah that just came in my head after hearing this so yeah soz (sorry) for giving u a lecture about me. But seriously, hopes she gets better soon,

Thank you all for your concern. Her abrasion has healed, but vision is still a really bad 20/400. Pain is still there. The specialist ordered a followup and some medications to help her out.
Apparently it was a freak one in a million chance. She was hiding behind a tree ( not wearing any protective gear like a doofus ) and her friend was about 30 feet away shooting the airsoft gun a bit wildly. The tree she was behind happened to have a gap in the middle between two branches which she was peaking out from. A pellet came straight for her, and hit her directly in the cornea. She's still in alot of pain, but the pellet did not penetrate the eye and is not wedged inside it or in her brain or anything. Luckily her friend was so far away so that the pellet bounced off. If he had been too much closer, it would have turned into a rather serious issue.
We are unsure if she will regain her vision ever again, or even improve so that it's at least slightly better, but only time will tell. Health-wise, she is fine and just has to let it heal and do followup appointments. Laser eye surgery may be necessary if the abrasion caused some sort of strange thing to happen inside, but honestly it may not be reversible since it's already started healing over. Hopefully she WILL regain her vision though, considering that she got hit in her 'good' eye and already has 20/80 or something in the eye that was left unharmed.
I personally have a few things to do today outside of Res, but I will be working on more res things today now that I'm back home and everything has settled down. Thanks for your patience. <3

The leaves above you in The Great Tree begin to rustle, and you see a few very large leaves emerge from the branches. They twitch slightly then suddenly disappear, and a large yellow creature crawls out from hiding in the leaves to reveal itself. It licks its lips as it looks down to you, and you notice the larger leaves seem to be attached to this magnificent creature! It lifts its head to the sky and lets out a soft roar, then leaps down from the tall branches. The leaves on its back stretch out and help it to glide down like a hang-glider. The creature lands in front of you and it sort of purrs and growls at the same time...emitting a churtling sound from its throat. It sniffs at your palms and then licks at the seed in them, crunching it in one small chomp with its jaws. A fruit-fawn creature of The Great Tree has appeared to you and taken
your offering. This creature smells sweetly sour like a lemon or lime from your world. It appears to be rather large, perhaps a few feet taller than you. The leaves on its back are too small to carry it in actual flight, so it appears to use them to glide and help it balance while climbing. It has very thick strong looking back legs, but the front ones spear small but dextrous...perhaps used for picking its favorite fruits to eat from trees. It appears to be neutral towards your BareBat, not taking too much notice to it...or perhaps it is just too intrigued by other things in its surroundings to really notice.

As you look inside of your BareBat's maw, he coughs up a bit of smoke, but then lets his tongue rest. You pry a strange black stone from between two of his fangs, brushing away at the smokey exterior. It glistens like obsidian in the sunlight and feels warm yet with a cool and smooth surface. Within the jet black stone you can see a faint light within, as if you were looking at a tiny world inside of it.

As everyone gathers their bearings and has obtained new creatures as partners, Mangodile calls everyone forth. He smiles and claps his chubby paws together before cupping them around his mouth to make his voice louder as he announces his message.
" Visitors of The Vale, your stay with me in the portal of The Great Tree is coming to an end. The BareBats here who have been tamed will be transported to your next destination, where they may remain available for adoption to others who have already claimed their partners and have yet to pick them up, or for new visitors who join you all in your adventure and wish to get a new partner.
Please cease any additional tests, so that the portal transfer does not have any negative affects. We here at The Vale want our visitors in tip top shape, so take care of yourselves! I'm afraid I can't follow you, but I may meet you another time in another portal where it is safe for a creature of my origin to dwell. Be on your toes, however...the keepers of each portal do wish for your safety, but not all creatures and residents have the initial ability to reason, and some may just be dangerous.
Have fun, out there, and keep making new discoveries!"
As Mangodile finishes, he walks over towards The Great Tree and places his paw upon a knot in the trunk. A bright blue-ish light seeps through the cracks of the bark, then an oval forms in front of it, spiraling with bright lights and a strong gale coming from it, feeling as if it is pulling everyone in. Mangodile bows and motions towards the portal, while bidding everyone a safe goodbye.
If I have forgotten to reply to anyone's action posts, please point me in the right direction now. If anyone still has to adopt a BareBat, you still can. ( Frank ) Just let me know which one. I ask that everyone please refrain from posting any more regular actions today with their items or books, while I prepare to set up for the next Portal.
