Books are available to buy at any time, yes. Even if you do not own a companion you can buy a book. Just remember, you can only buy one from each portal. Another portal will be visited in October.
Cloaked - You may. 75k for the first book, and then you can decide on an action to take. Remember, it's almost like a roleplay. Do whatever you want, and I'll give you an update as to what you have written has done. It may do nothing, and it may do something. I'm deciding based upon percentages and random number generators. You may only perform one action today. You can try again tomorrow. :>
ShadowWolf - Same as I said to Cloaked. 75k and then the book will be yours to act how you will.

Holidays321 gently picked up the book, and scratched her head. She paced back and forth and sat on the crisp healthy grass. She wondered what she could possible do to a book that was completely blank, she had absolutely no clue. A gentle breeze blew past her and she sighed wearily and opened up the book. She would just have to think and hopefully she might figure out what she was going to try to do with the book. Perhaps she should of taken a different book, but then again she probably wouldn't know what to do with that one either. She looked at mangodile but decided not to ask him for help, it was very tempting but it appeared as of nothing was written there so mangodile probably wouldn't be able to read the book. Perhaps there was something she was overlooking, she picked up the book and thought quietly to herself again. "i know what I'll try", she picked up the book and started trying to scratch out the pages. Mabye there is something here, she thought.

(Alright sending TU in a moment)
Cloaked wondered what all the fuss was about as yet another person hurried past him, shoving him roughly up against a tree. Instead of saying sorry the person grumbled and continued at a dead run. "I wonder what's up?" Cloaked said aloud, hurry around the crowd, hoping no one was hurt. As he got to the front he noticed several people paying for unusual books or texts. All around him people were looking at books in awe. Cloaked picked up one but immediately set it down. This book seemed Ominous and the pages looked like some kind of bug had eaten through them. He continued looking around Mangodile, when suddenly out of the corner of his eye, he saw a brilliant glow. One of the books was an unearthly golden color. Picking it up he noticed an unusual symbol on the front of it. He traced it with his finger, wondering what that symbol meant. He was about to put it down again, but something stopped him. This book felt...right. Like it was calling to him. Flipping through the pages, his brows furrowed in confusion. The book was blank. Every page had nothing written on it. Instead of getting frustrated for not understanding he felt intrigued. He payed for the book and walked over to a few trees. Picking a spot where he would not easily be seen, he sits down and begins to try and decipher the book's meaning or meanings. "Was it a book worth value?" He wondered as he stared down at the blank pages. "It must be." He decided. There must be more to this book than the eye meets.

Actually Holidays, it would be in the manner of you picking an action. I'm sorry I probably did not explain this thoroughly. You can't go out and find another thing to do with the book. I have to have most of the control of the 'RP' type of this, unfortinately, for the full plans of this world to work.
You'd perform some sort of action of any kind, such as tearing a piece of the book, simply touching it, flipping the pages, dropping it on the ground, trying to use it in a recipe ( which will become available later when you may acquire more items or salvaged pages ), letting a pet read it ( if they can read the language, which will be determined by percentages ), trying to decipher the coding, etc etc. You can indeed be creative with what you want to do, even try to scratch out the words or fold the pages etc etc, but you cannot totally alter what you want to do with the book. In other words, the candle is out of place. You are currently in a vale. A garden, if you will. You cannot god mod, but you can use creativity to perhaps, maybe...interact with the environment, and the book. Like make a pile of leaves collected from the base of the tree, and lie the book on top of it. Something like that.
Your idea is okay, aside from the candle. Anything that would be enchanted or something would need to really come from the items of the vale itself, or be able to be found in the current portal. For example if I one day did post a discovery of mystical candles, you could interact with them and the book too.
If I may ask you to choose an action again, please do. Basically you /can/ turn it into a bit of an RP segment like that, but just know that the actual effect will be controlled my the percentages I get, the item itself, and what I write that happens to you, the item, and/or your companion.

Books can be bought in multiples by other users, by the way. So, Cloaked, you can still get the golden tome, holidays can too. You cannot get two tomes at one time from one portal though.
If you need a replacement if your tome breaks though, the illusion is implied that books have run out, and you will then be given a book by random. It could be different, or it could be the same book.

Cloaked, your entry was excellent. I did not intend for this thread to become a true RP area, so that even people who cannot RP well, or do not have the time to write such a response can still interact. But your entry chose the book, explained an action, and allowed me to reply.
Cloaked's first entry is a good one to go by, guys. It doesn't have to be nearly as long, and it can be a simple "I trace the symbol on this book". But if you need an example, that first post is a good one. Just saying.
I will reply soon with an action that you may have caused, Cloaked.

Lol Cloaked, no, you're pretty good as you are. it wasn't going off and taking another ob ject that you cannot find, nor one that you do not own yet. It was fine, just lengthy, but it was a lovely read and this is what I wanted. Something different and creative...something that people could actually interact more with.

Secrets of the Vale-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cloaked has Discovered a Blessing!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the visitor browsed the books and chose his own, the golden tome glistened, seeming to entice his eyes. As he traced his finger along the symbol, the pages rustled within the bindings of the book...faint whispers inaudible to the human ear drifted from within. Unknown to the visitor, as he sat, flipping through the odd blank pages, the book traced into him, and began to fill its pages with sparkling gold ink. Runes etched themselves upon the pages and the seams began to glow. Suddenly the book's bindings snapped closed and the light faded. It lie still in the visitor's lap, as if nothing had happened, and the golden sheen of the book dulled. It has received slight damages. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You have been bestowed the Blessing of the Sun!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blessings are an unknown discovery. Perhaps this will come in handy when you find a companion, or maybe will affect other visitors in some way. Only time will tell. Consider this book and this blessing as part of your Inventory. Write them down somewhere so you remember you have them, in case I forget them.
