Yet another visitor has dwelled into The Vale and into the current portal. She seems curious and intrigued, taking swift action to attempt to build something to help capture the beasts. After a bit of tinkering with various items, she has built herself a fine net of level 9!

The Blessed visitor, Cloaked, though a bit distraught at the previous failure, rushes forth with glory towards the now slightly tired BareBat. With a toss of his lesser quality net, it manages to wrap around the creature and lock its wings tightly to its body, preventing any movement, though the grip was so tight it scratches into the creature's mane and rips a small tuft from it, which clung to the net.

The Barebat falls to the ground and wriggles around, giving your net a very small amount of damage. ( level 4 )

Soon, the BareBat tires itself, and Mangodile rushes over, taking it to be tamed in the corral.

You have captured this BareBat and even found a tuft of hair entangled in your net! Will you attempt to collect it?

A rather quiet visitor has joined at the untimely chaos of the Swarm, though the other visitors have been doing a fantastic job at keeping the creatures at bay so far and capturing them all, providing a promising group to choose from later when companions can be bought! Sonador gathers some strong vines and plant life to craft her net, and succeeds with an average strength net of level 6!

You may now attempt to capture a beast!

YESSSS. //screams loudly//

Do I just wait for an encounter, or...?

As you reach to collect your loot, another BareBat swoops down and snatches it into its talons and flies high into the air with it. Dang, looks like you may not be able to get that back. Looting was unsuccessful.

As the last of the swarm remains, the Blessed visitor, cloaked performs a strange action, interacting with the creature itself. The lesser creature shrieks and flaps around, attempting to flee as your net is flung simply to scare it, then cries out as you manage to jump up and land on it.

Just before the creature can flee, its eyes widen and glaze over for a moment. Suddenly, Cloaked's hands begin to glow...the glow travels up from his hands to his arms, shoulders, then his entire body is illuminated. A bright light shines between you and the creature, then the BareBat shrieks and howls. Its eyes open wide and glow with a fiery orange and yellow, and its body becomes swallowed in warmth. The visitor also glows and is engulfed in light and warmth.

Mangodile watches in amazement as the visitor and the creature share a moment in trance, completely oblivious to what is happening to them, and focused deeply on something within themselves.

The light fades almost as quickly as it appeared, and the BareBat comes to its senses, then flies down, astonishingly calmly, with Cloaked on its back. As it lands, it gently shakes you off, and then stands in front of you, wings folded and head tilted. A familiar rune glows faintly on its forehead. The creature stares at you, eyes locked with yours, though with no struggle or sense of fear. It appears to have mysteriously bonded to you...

Cloaked has bonded with a creature instantly through a Blessing!
Cloaked has obtained a BareBat that is blessed by the Sun!

It appears this visitor has had a lucky streak, and has now discovered something new and wonderful. In previous posts, Cloaked discovered a Blessing from his mysterious book. This blessing has been with him for a while, and has now been transferred to this creature.

His choice to interact directly with the creatures would normally cause them to flee. Any hand to hand combat or attempt to touch a wild creature of The Vale that is not tamed will automatically cause the creatures to flee, or cause great damage, depending on the creature. However, because the visitor had a special Blessing, he had a chance to create a special reaction.

This sort of thing is one of the rarest affects to activate, though it is indeed possible. Many different affects can happen through a Blessing, and when interacting with creatures while blessed, there are even more possibilities. Some Blessings will destroy a creature, some of them will make a creature stronger, some will help in a battle. Some will mutate the creature, etc. There are many different affects to be discovered, and even more different types of Blessings.

If your special reaction does trigger while being blessed, you have a chance to immediately Bond with a creature, depending on the type of Blessing you have. Bonding happens when a visitor and a creature have had physical contact while the visitor has a Blessing.If the Blessing triggers, it will spread into the bodies of both the visitor and creature, and create some sort of reaction that is based upon how, or where you got your original blessing.

When you bond in this way, you do not have to pay to keep this creature,
 however, this counts as your claimed creature from the swarm. If you
badly want to buy another creature, I will allow it, but you may not
choose one from the corral until everyone else who participated has
chosen first. I do this because instantly bonded creatures will always
get a special affect of some type, that will be unique and special to
its own species. Not many people will be able to trigger this sort of
thing, and it is quite a prize if you manage to activate it.

Cloaked's Blessing was received from a book, which had a special rune upon it. If your blessing was triggered by a book, or anything that involves runes, your creature will benefit from the bonding by receiving a Rune Tap. Rune Taps, just like Blessings, can have many different affects. The Rune Taps may trigger automatically, overtime, or have an actual trigger action that may only take affect when certain things happen, such as ingesting a certain item, reacting from a Swarm, or being read to, etc. Cloaked's Rune Tap discovery will be a special type of affect, or, mutation, that will make its affects known over time. ( In other words, once I finish the artwork for the affect, it will be triggered and posted. Your creature will be very unique compared to the other BareBats that have been seen. )

This particular part of our world is a bit difficult to explain, because it has an extremely high amount of possibilities, which keep our world and its creatures as unique as can be. Only patience, time, and more discoveries can unlock new affects such as this.

I will make an actual discovery post with more information about this at the front of the thread, and try my best to give examples without giving away any spoilers. As you can see, sometimes random actions can spark amazing new discoveries.

To sum up what has happen with Cloaked in particular:

You have shared your Blessing with a creature completely by accident, though it has affected the two of you drastically. This BareBat has bonded with you and refuses to leave your side, though it is confused and seems a bit sickly, though it is perfectly healthy. It keeps rubbing its wing upon its head where the Rune now glows. From time to time, its belly rumbles and it coughs up smoke. It clings to your pant leg when its not flying, and often chitters to itself and looks around curiously.

You have a friend for life now. You may name your creature if you'd like and if you have a preferred gender, you can pick. Otherwise, I will pick for you. Keep an eye on it, however, for that Rune is not something to take lightly. Your BareBat seems to be undergoing a slow transformation.

Sona was a bit nervous in approaching one of the Barebats. They were a little scary and very strange, unlike what she had ever seen before. She was still determined to snag one of the nearly-hairless creatures, though, so she came up with a slightly different method. She plucked a strange fruit off a nearby tree and tossed it towards the level one Barebat, anxiously waiting to see if the creature would accept it and come closer so she could net it.

Holidays picks up the book sits down on top of the uprooted tree and looks at the book, which now seems to have grey pages. she starts taping her fingers lightly on the first page of the book with an unusual pattern and starts humming a song.

After messing around with her book some more she glances down at her net and looks around to see if she can find anything to repair her damaged net with.

Mangodile winces as he sees the visitor pluck a precious fruit from The Great Tree and use it as bait for the very creature that may deplete the entire stock of resources. However, because the visitors have taken care of most of the creatures quickly, minimal damage was done. The BareBat lets out a shrill cry and swoops down, snatching the fruit in its talons and darting upward, completely avoiding your net's toss.

After the BareBat escapes, your net floats on the wind and lands in the same tree the fruit was plucked from and tears harshly. Your net has taken high damage (level 4.5), and you have obtained no loot.


(( it's appropriate to work with the environment, but during a swarm it is usually frowned upon, because a swarm is capable of destroying the portal they invade. But, you did take a risk, and that is encouraged. You managed to avoid any major consequences, but it would seem my number generator even punished your character xD; I'm sorry about that. You can try again of course though, unless the event ends tonight. ))

The book is completely still and slightly dulled. The way it is unresponsive is almost eerie. However, the cover glistens as you begin to hum, and some of its color returns. You seem to have pleased the magic within, culling it with the sound of peacefulness. Although your actions have triggered a small amount of difference, there is no lasting effect. Don't give up quite yet.

Your book remains in good condition.



(( I'm afraid repairs can only be made if you have an item to test it out with, and specify that you attempt to use an item to repair your tools with. I can't remember if you have any loot. If you do, you can perform actiosn with it just like your book. Once a day, until it has been used up or broken. MOST items will be completely used up if your attempt succeeds at whatever you are doing. ))

Sona takes a quick step back and watches with wide eyes and a thudding heart as the Barebat shrieked and swooped away, leaving her perfectly good net damaged in the process. Although the experience was quite scary, she decided to try again. With shaky hands, she found a long stick and used it to poke her net out of the tree.

Once it had fallen, she turned towards the same Barebat that had denied her bait. She decided to be more straightforward and less bold, then tossed her net at the creature again, without trying the bait or anything else out of the ordinary.

Rika closes in on one of the last remaining BareBats plaguing the portal of The Great Tree...the creature shudders and flaps its wings wildly, attempting to appear threatening. With a hurried toss of her net, the visitor catches the lesser leveled creature!

As your catch falls to the earth, amazingly your lowly net avoids any damages again.

Soon, the BareBat tires itself, and Mangodile rushes over, taking it to be tamed in the corral.
