Makusa

Greetings! I'm Makusa. Keepers’ personal assistant and best friend here in the wet and cold Northlands. I help her travel between our frigid homeland on the surface of Scria to the bustling cities and shops in the clouds. It’s a hard rise breaking through the heavy winds that tear the mountains beneath the serene cities above, but it’s also a daily flight we must take to refill our wares and inventory. Without it the creatures that call the surface home and also offer aide to those stranded from above, would perish in the harsh climate. It may seem absurd to those not used to it. Why live here when we could return to the clouds and have perfect weather everyday? Well it’s a bit of a story…..Keeper told me long ago that before she lived down here. She stayed up in the clouds like everyone else. She loved the Scrians and their daily bustle and one of them she had happened to fall in love with. She said she had been young, and it was a bad relationship. The man had been a farmer that pushed his Creatu hard to make quotas at harvest time. She had been tasked with training them and she told me of the hard methodologies her husband forced her to use. Often with limited and restricted results and harsh punishment. One day, she had decided enough was enough and she tried to run away with a few of the eggs while releasing the others. He caught her though and tossed her over the cliffs in anger. No one really knows how Keeper survived the fall with no one to catch her, but we assume it must’ve been Palora herself. Since then, here she has stayed. Teaching us how to survive and making sure no one else shares such a grim fate if she can help it. We can be huge aide the planet here. That is not our only tasks though. Keeper has set up a whole system of work down here, each job perfect for the creatu she assigns them to. You won’t find our leaders or generals blindly stumbling around with no purpose. Speaking of, I need to get back to my training and studies. I’d love to stick around and chat about our history more, but a day idle is a day wasted. If you speak to others around, I’m sure you’ll learn even more. Toodles and stay warm!! Written by: Gigirox42
